| For those that don't know, it's now a 10 year old fighting game that is (or was) known fanservicey elements, and has received changes over the years, this time they doubled down on removing things they felt were "offensive" or "out of taste", such as removing jokes, imagery of real life groups (a group of characters had red arm bands, these were altered) and some pantie shots when characters moved. No matter what, censorship is bad, especially on a game that was known for a unique take on the fighting game genre that's known for it's fanservice style. Don't bother checking their twitter, it's full of the usual people defending this awful decision and calling anyone who despises censorship the usual buzzwords (pedo, incel, neckbeard). | I'll say what i always say when these kind of thing happens, vote with your wallet. you don't like censorship easy, just don't support the censored products. Companies only understand one language and it's money, if there's a significant loss in revenue for them, you can be sure they'll bring those elements back. |
| How much net profit did the game pull though? Because if it wasn't much they might be thinking they can squeeze more out of it with little to no money by just making a few changes to see if it sells more. It's possibly just a goofy business decision in such case rather than politics because all that matters in private businesses to them is profit. |

| I can't say I've ever played this game, but I've always loved the art style, and the character designs. Can't say I'm ever happy to see censorship. That PR post kind of pissed me off more than it should though. It seems like everything they say is just wanting to have their cake, and eat it too. Like you can't have the bad guy look like a Nazi? Really? Reminds me of that awful, awful, Extra Credits video from a few years ago. People just need to grow up man. |

| May be only girls play fighting games genre, so any fanservice does not work on them. I remember True was saying she likes fighting games like Street Fighter and Soul Calibur (not sure if titles are correct) On the other hand may be not completely as my friends are fans or Mortal Combat, however what they like most about it so called fatalities, like when a winner tears out the head together with the spine from a corpse of a loser. It is called mortal combat, they fight to death in there. Though they liked StarCraft a lot more than Mortal Combat. I personally prefer shooters like Doom and Quake to fighting games. Gun is just more efficient than fists. I also like strategies because I like to command. |

| Thats a bad move. But people have been warning others about the all digital PC market dangers for a long time. It has happened before: games that got "remastered" and replaced in your account, hacked/banned accounts, edit of data inside the games. Few companies are like Valve that lets you play the builds of their older games. I love Steam and have been an user since the HL2 demo. It is flawless, it is awesome. But Gaven wont be with us forever and we know see a sneak peek of what could happen in the future. As another example (no as bad tbh, but you get the idea): Epic recently delisted ALL Unreal Games. Now anyone that wants them cant get them. I have my physical Copy so they cant take it away. Just think what will happen with some digital games in a couple decades. And just to add one last thing i read on the Twitter that made a lot of sense: They edited a digital book of concept art... The idea of that was to see all the iterations of that character before the released version. The modding community never end to amaze me.But I still consider it not the way to maintain digital content. Just think of all "live service" games that have died and no one will revive. Or other games that got "remastered" and delisted for all stores, games that are on a limbo of licenses like Freelancer. If they took the content out the server, you have to rely on someone saving the data "just in case", in other times it was on your disk and though luck to the publishers if they want to change something because of reasons. BUT you are right, it is a good comfort to know that doesnt matter what the publishers/Devs do, if there is a community, they will bring the game back |

| Fanservice is a major appeal of games. Taking it away would detract from its core audience for outsiders who would never touch the game either way. Hopefully they have enough esg money to stay afloat if they go woke. |
