There was some worry of the animation quality with the studio announcement, so 2 episodes in what are your thoughts?

Bear in mind the animation quality might drop as the anime goes on, and the animation should be more on show in the match scenes, but what are your thoughts so far?

first few episodes of most anime have great animation anyway

and its a consecutive 2 cour anime and not split cour so production schedule will be tight later on giving less time for animators to polish things especially if the later parts are action pack

Yes, the animation is the same as drawing in the manga. It is great!

Much better than Ao Ashi's still frames. Football is too dynamic and has too many players for a fully 2D animation.

All my worries went away after I saw the person doing the series composition, he is the main reasoning behind the production being this consistent (so far) so I have a little faith that the animation will be just fine.

series composition just writes the dialogues though they do not care about the animation especially the storyboards that is the director and episode directors job

No they're not, they work side by side with the director, at times they are even more vital in the process of making the decisions behind the anime, I encourage you to look it up just in case you are confused.

then I give praise to both of them and studio 8bit for being able to give us 2 good episodes as of now.

It would be okay in basketball to say 1 sec thing but in football it's not that much of a factor.. The ref can blow the final whistle with 30 sec remaining or add Fergie time and play several minutes after added time

Not sure why Blue Lock's getting so much hate. It mostly comes from butthurt football fans when a fictional work takes a different approach to the sport. Ao Ashi is a thousand times better than Blue Lock in terms of story. But Blue Lock's art (manga) and animation are both superior IMO.

Ao Ashi's adapation was just so poor. There was not a single match that was well animated. Still frames for mostly everything. Passing, goals, dribbling etc. Blue Lock's doing a fantastic job with the 2d animation and CGI.

It's pretty good so far and honestly, Blue Lock is gonna help me survive this season if this continues.

so far it's has good animation, but i guess in the future it will have some drop quality in term of animation.

I don't know how the anime production works, can someone tell me how it works. I remember someone tell " if right now episode 2 airing the staff and studio right now works for episode 5 " is that right ?. I though anime production always finish before it airing.

tbh i never expect the adaptation will have good animation, in the end i only care how they adapted the story it self the animation just second after that.

I guess there still people who can't differentiate fiction to reality, but critics on some series can be a good thing to be a content for disscusion (atleast for me). but different to hate it's just pointless and stupid.

here is a production schedule in a nutshell for 13 episodes of an anime

source is here https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/2jez51/preparing_for_shirobako_schedule_anime_terms/
as you can see total production time of 1 cour (13 episodes) anime show is around 39 weeks or 9 months and you can see the production schedule getting more busy on the middle episodes so you have to consider that a lot of times they go overtime or overschedule on some later episodes because of piling production errors and delays and that affects the more later episodes production schedule getting less time overall so animation quality suffers that way

thats basically it and oh there are like 3-5 animation team working on an anime usually and they rotate on working on each episodes like 1 team will work for episode 1 and the other team will work for 2nd episode and so on

Its not great on its own but 2 episodes in, it's a better showing than its football anime counterparts in that area at least.

from the clips i've seen it looks very impressive, but daily reminder that animation doesn't always mean that the story is going to be good
