He had evidence.... cause he stopped heearing the legion from beyond the eastern front the Legion so that means the legion there either moved away or got defeated. So that means there might be someone out there in that way. Do you want screenshots from this also?

And here is the mentionign of Giad in the 2nd episode of season 1:

Thank you, you are proving me right on my statement that expository-chan was right "just because he says so" and we must believe in Shin's incredible superpowers without any doubt.

Also, thanks for the screenshot, it also proves my point that it was hidden or at least not framed in a proper way to be absorded unless you're the kind of freak that watches the show with a notebook at hand and visit every single wiki and fanpage to expand the knowledge of this world that's not presented in the adaptation.

Lol? Shin never stated that there is the Federacy or claimed anything. He just said that the voices of the Legion ceased there so he took his chances andd went in that direction.

Others claimed that it was also mentioned in ep 1 and in the flashback where Rei told Lena that they aree from Giad. Heck in ep 10 they epnt a whole episode where they were in the former terrority of Giad. THEY EVEN SAID IT SO!
And let me quote you:

"have no interest in this cheap move with a whole new nation that wasn't mentioned before "

So basically you made a claim on a freaking untrue statement. Also nice edit there about the sneaky part. Sneaky would be if the Anime showed you a map in the corner where you could see Giad. This is not a sneaky introduction, this is you being dense. You hate this show too much that you are incapable of critical thinking. Please bother me when I cannot disprove anything you say with a single screenshot from the anime.

The only thing that gave me hope of watching the second season of this show was the posibility of taking Shin and his brigade of disposable characters out of the picture and get a whole new cast. I'll stick around just to see how does Millena fares with her new squad, but I have no interest in this cheap move with a whole new nation that wasn't mentioned before (or probably was introduced in just a sneaky way that source readers knew it)

I hope the majority of those clowns left after season 1 and won't even start this. No one needs their shit takes.

Someone doesn't like the show I like therefore they're dumb and have bad takes. Oh the irony.

To call someone incapable of critical thinking while referring to this show is absolutely hilarious. The entire premise and world they've built is devoid of any critical thinking whatsoever.

86 has a deep story, ...

The Republic of San Magnolia, as usual, persecutes the population of Sector 86; Don't consider them human at all.
Vladilena dyed part of her hair red in solidarity with the residents of Sector 86. A wonderful gesture.
Meanwhile, the Giadian Empire has been defeated by people whose intentions we don't know. Thereafter, The Federacy of Giad appeared, a new country being developed preparing to impose itself, And The Republic of San Magnolia knows nothing about that and the world either.
Shin and his friends, it seems they didn't die, they were caught by the Federacy of Giad. They found safety and stability in a country other than their own, they love them and consider them their brothers.
Ernst Zimerman, the provisional President of the Giad Federacy, was really provisional. The actual ruler is that girl, Frederica Rosenfort, Empress of the Federacy of Giad. She may seem like a little girl, but she is really a conscious and cultured girl.

At the end, who is Kiri? and What is his relationship with Shin and the Empress?

Very interesting. Everyone somehow survived. I guess this other nation showed up at just the right time to fight the legion and save them. Pretty sus tho. An entire other nation is quiet something since the Republic was saying (at least publicly) that they are the only surviving nation I think. I guess there had to be an allied power out there to balance this axis power.

Nice to see how Lena has become such a badass despite the demotion. Higher ups can't do much when she's the best handler and her success helps them get promoted. As long as she doesn't do anything too against orders I suppose. Wonder how we will balance the two sides this season.

Aaah finally 86 is back! So hyped for this <3 I had to watch the 86 special edition for a recap (not exactly special lol) so I can get a refresh before watching 2nd cour.

I liked the second half better than the first. I love Lena and all but it's so sad to see her kinda more closed off from everyone else than before (?). Kinda like she got more angsty or something. Also great to see Shin and the rest of the squad again + them meeting Frederica.

This scene had me laughing lmao

The President kinda sus though.

EIGHTY-SIX 2nd Cour 1st Episode Impression:

I'm never too keen about the first cour of this show honestly, because i keep thinking they were wasting the whole season just to build a death narrative that only lead to a shallow and predictable tragedy at the finale. And yes, after that episode i am ready to believe that, it is the end of this dystopian-politics sci-fi story, because the majority of character arc are complete and the plot is already wrapped up -not great, and surely not the best to ask for- but at least nicely done. And they never exactly settled a prospect to expect in the future, so an immediate "sequel" seems not demanding in mind

And gonna be honest, when the news about the second cour came out -as a non manga reader- i was like "Is there anything left to tell?". Because the title subject, the main character(for me) those "EIGHTY-SIX" are already dead, and i don't really care about that corrupt republic and their 'ghostly' war either that are poorly written and poorly explain in the first cour. But only when we discovered that they are still alive (some people gonna mock me by saying "oh it's obvious that they are, what are you stupid?") i'm surprisingly realized how much i actually care and invested in them and their conflict suddenly gaining a stake to be rooting for

It's amazing how this first episode able to sift the tone and expand the world building so fast; added the Federacy perspective it's exactly what we need so this war against legion things(?) not keep being hollow or one-sided towards that wicked Magnolia republic (finally i can take this whole war thing seriously). And i just glad we got to see more on Milize in her profound state, had found her footing and stand her ground against the crocked nobility and feudalism she's in (hoping she and her lovely Spearhead unit would meet each other soon)

The only downside for me is the little girl with the Paimon personality. It just seems off, in this world full of realistic grounded character, here she as the only typical comedic relieve just to annoy you for the upcoming week

But everything else is a solid improvement, even the opening song continue the legacy of its predecessor to be a banger

We have walk through the predictable narrative of the first cour, now we arrive at the uncharted territory of the second cour full of revelation that we should have got from the first one, that if it's done right, maybe this is the complete redeem version of Darling in the Franxx that we are all longing for, for so long

For some reason I feel like shin is dead and the tag he got from the president was the hint that it’s all a dream or something. I’m hoping I’m wrong though. Altogether really really good episode, my favourite thing about 86 is the amount of emotions and feelings it can fit into one episode and it did it perfectly again.

The tag was originally salvaged by Shin from Rei's Juggernaut, it was shown in the cockpit for a very brief moment in episode 11

6th handler is a .... Episode 12 "Youkoso"?

Back to boring Milize life, That noble is still drinking and blaspheming Milize. Milize seems fine, though since the first season there have been a lot of deaths from her troops. The most disgusting thing for the major was reporting every detail to her commander. The end of the republic? I dunno, I've even had to differentiate between Legion or Republic, I mostly forgot about this story, lol. Has there been a hair design change for Milize? I mean the red, or I'd forgotten about this. Neko is so cute, her name is Teppy.

I even forgot about Shin nii-san... Actually this is surprising, because I remember that the last episode of season 1, I thought Shin was dead, but Shin was still alive and was kidnapped by the astronauts. The astronaut is from the Giade federation? Or am I spelling it wrong. This discussion is quite heavy because it is about the human body, glad to see his friend still alive. They were angry that Shin tried to fight them alone but yeah, Shin apologized and the problem was solved. It's really surprising there is another country besides the Republic.

Save the Eighty Six, It was a peaceful country, in contrast to the Republic. They were given a place to live, it seem like that loli was excited and surprisingly it turned out that the loli was the daughter of ... Think of the loli as imouto, and the man as otou-san, it's not a joke. It ends with the maid's introduction?

Hold on sec, she was Nyotei heika? Damnnn.... An amazing loli. Rei? Who else is it... Next eps "It's too late" OP not bad either.

I think rei is shourei nouzen. he is shin's big brother, shin nii-san

AOTY is back babeey. Such a good episode. Loved the anime original stuff with Leina. Ernst and Grethe don't look how I imagined but they still capture their characters well and I did not know Misaki Kuno was going to be Frederica. Very cute and bullyable. Also the Amazarashi OP was perfect. So glad A-1 is pulling out their absolute best for this one.

I am not the biggest fan of the series, YET. The first season didn't impact me at all. It always forced you to feel sad and show sympathy towards the deaths that occurred in the previous season. However, I must admit this season looks VERY intriguing and promising.

And this is also a world that has Empires, Kingdoms, nobility in it. How is having a princess or an empress not "realistic"? What's wrong with having comic relief once in a while? Having lighthearted moments like these DOES NOT make any setting less realistic. Eitherway what makes you think the new character will remain nothing as a "comic relief"?
Nope.

This beginning was very solid showing everything that happened after the final battle without overloading the information episode now open more mysteries and a new perspective of the war against the Legion with the new republic that we could see I liked the op a good The decision to put the band Amazarashi and the only thing that I did not like is that the entire squad has survived it does not harm the end of the first season but it takes away all the fear that was seen for me only from saw to see survived SHIN

A curious beginning. Lena seems much colder, after her previous experience as a Handler. The new group looks promising, and I hope they show up more. Shin and his group's appearance impressed me, but not that much. I kinda expected he would return. So it seems the major Legion members were defeated, and there is a new government called Giad. Ernst looks kind, and he is doing his best, and Frederica is so cute and nice. Let's figure out their roles

I was really exited for this season 2. And still am tbh but I dunno why but I get a feeling it not gonna be able to keep the story as good as season 2 anymore........

Watching episode 1, it was clear how much the animation quality dropped compared to season 1. Also Shin and the others were alive, WHICH I AM REALLY HAPPY ABOUT cuz I cried in the last episode of season 1 in the "We will ge going ahead, Captain" (I watch without sub so it's something around that I think) and the part where shin was supposed to be killed. But the federation who picked them up says they found them in the battlefield??? How???

Anyway, I LOVED THE OPENING THEME "KYOUKAISEN" (I feel like I'm gonna cry every time I listen to it) and am very much looking forward to what's gonna happen next. (gave it 7.9 for now)

Even so, I hope this doesn't end up with the president developing some weird*ss machine and everyone teaming up to destroy it or something, that's too overused.

What? animation quality didn't drop a bit instead they up the quality .

So you were proved wrong but you're still going to act like you're in the right? Classic
Just like Hippocrates said about science and opinion, one begets knowledge, while the latter is ignorance

Of course their pride won't let them accept that they were proven wrong.

Well, they did improve the battle animations a little I guess but others things such as characters walking, face expressions was compromized quite a bit. And it's just episode 1 and I didn't say an animation drop with will ruin the anime or anything. Let's just see what happens.
