| Nah it’s not anything special, entertaining but it’s just pretty average and has bland/annoying characters mainly for comedic relief and it’s just very generic. Nothing wrong with liking it though |
| I think it is good but not that great. It's plot is light and kind of easy to understand. Thats why it is so popular. And the animation (and the music) is amazing, which make it more popular. So overall it is good. I really enjoy it. But not that amazing (at least for me). The plot is not that deep and complicated. But I guess it is good. Since easy to understand plot tend to penetrate more market. But something about the show give a mainstream vibe. If you have watched many show u will realize that some show is not that "unique" and that kind of show can't really impress you. |

| I went into it with high expectations because of the hype and ended up dropping it on the 3rd episode thinking it's total trash. Then in one of my bored moments, when I didn't know what to watch, I decided to pick it back up. This time I went into it with a ton of negative bias, but I thought I will at least stuck with it till the other characters come in, maybe one of them will be more interesting than Tanjirou, Mr. Generic Shounen Protagonist. I struggled through the first half, it started getting a bit more interesting around ep 8 maybe. I think Zenitsu and Inosuke made the show a bit more enjoyable and even though the comedy was definitely very childish, I found a couple jokes funny. The spider family arc (I bet that's not the name, but you get it) was pretty decent, I enjoyed it (mostly). Besides the cheesy dialogues, basic characters and generic plot, the power system also frustrates me and Tanjirou pulling a new technique in the middle of the fight out of his ass was just so typical shounen bs that I can't even... Also Nezuko, the only main female character is actually a plot device and not a character. Overall I gave it a 6/10 because I did enjoy some of it, otherwise it probably deserves a 5, but I would understand anyone giving it a lower score too. But I also understand why people would like it, tho calling it a masterpiece seems a bit...questionable. Really so far it's nothing out of the ordinary. From what I've heard, I expect it to get darker later and I hope there is a reason why the manga is so insanely popular in Japan. (Btw I have not watched the movie yet.) |

| As someone who watched a fair amount of shows, I think as a shounen it is pretty solid, and I enjoyed while watching it, even I waited for every week to get a new episode. As a point, it is somewhere around higher 7 and lower 8 for me, but definitely not in my top 5. |

| As of now with roughly 38% of people who voted, agreeing with me that demon slayer is average/bad, I am shocked that the rating overall for the anime is still so high. I would assume there is a correlation between the overall rating and amount of people that voted they think this anime is good or bad in this forum post, but maybe the more casual anime watchers who don’t explore the forums are the ones who gave the anime a high rating. |

Regarding character deaths, in my opinion I found it difficult to care at all whenever a demon died in an emotional/deep way, or when Tanjiro’s family died. This is because the characters were never fleshed out and we were never given time to form an emotional attachment to a character before they died. How can I feel sorrow when a demon dies in a dramatic way when I only met them that very episode, where the demon has a rush of backstory before finally dying? That’s personally how I see it. |

| As someone who watched KnY after couple hundreds of series (around 300), I found it really boring (especially from ep 7 - 17) and is one of the few anime I fell asleep while binge-watching. The animation is good but it is really overrated imo |
| Kimetsu no Yaiab is really a good anime. Thanks to ufotable studio, it was the main reason for being good. |

| I used to avoid watching because of the overhype but it turned out better than what I expected. Overall, it's a good and enjoyable anime... just not my top fav. though... |
| I've been watching anime for 26 years and I like Demon Slayer. I don't think it's amazing but it is good and I enjoyed it quite a lot. |
