| Because of the art lol Pretty much everyone agrees that the plot is not really unique and very cliche. But the art and the somewhat edgy attitude of Sung Jin-Woo is popular with teens. Think an edgy anime character like Itachi Uchiha or something, same principle. |

| As many have mentioned, yeah it's a guilty pleasure power fantasy. The plot, story, and characters are obviously going to be pretty cliche and repetitive. However, it knows exactly what the readers of these types of series wants and delivers on that, with the addition of a clean artstyle. It knows how to appeal to these audiences and give them what they want and hand it to them on a silver platter. Personally I don't really enjoy it. The main character is a bit too edgy for my tastes, and the plot itself is just repeating itself. |

| It was the series that got me into manhwa so it's special to me in that respect. Are there better series? Yeah. There are even some series that have a lot of similarities, but are just wayyy more interesting to me personally that I like way better. But Solo Leveling is a good gateway manhwa for people trying to get interested in reading manhwa or webtoons. The story isn't all that great or as original as people make it out to be, but the art is fantastic. You can't deny that, at least. | Sometimes I really think that other people can´t seem to grasp the fact that humans do indeed hold different opinions. What amazes me to most is that some of y'all behave exactly like the type that goes on phub and willingly goes to the category bdsm, then goes to the comment section in order to complain that it's .. indeed bdsm. Amazing example, right. These threads make my brain hurt, it's not even an interesting discussion about a series + or -'s it's just straight up people going "WEEehHhEEHh BoOhOo". (at least for the most part) |

Arrogant guy steps up and gets one-shot by the monster. MC comes in and one-shots the monster. Repeat ad infinitum. There's a point at which you have to say: "okay, this is just the exact same thing repeated lots of times" and I think SL is long past that point. |

| i like the artstyle and the fact that it takes me about a minute to read each chapter, so it's one of the few manhwa i've been able to keep up with weekly. also the fact that the plot and general story is so simple that even my awful attention span can keep up and like not immediately forget about. it's also super easy to binge! |
| You can see from my profile that I am a very big fan of Solo Leveling. I dont really understand why people think Solo Leveling is Cliched? I can agree that the ideas used in solo leveling is vastly used but I think Solo Leveling has a unique story. I don't really want an manhwa full of suspense or lot of mistakes that really annoy the readers. So far Solo leveling hasn't made any noticeable mistakes and It is one of the few series that I actually love. Hyung nim is not your typical MC and its really satisfying to see him show off his strength in front of everyone. The Idea of reviving shadows is so cool too. The art is fantastic and the story isn't bad like you all say. |
