AnimeJapan—one of the world's largest anime conventions—will be held for the seventh time from Saturday, March 27 through Sunday, March 28 (JST). The convention has hosted over 100 exhibitors and 100,000 guests yearly at Tokyo Big Sight since its inaugural event in 2014, but was cancelled last year and will be held virtually this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
AnimeJapan 2021 will feature four stages with content from across the anime industry. Three of them make up the AJ Stage and will focus on airing and upcoming anime. Viewers can expect to see panel discussions with anime cast members and staff, during which new information may be revealed. The fourth—AJ Studio—will feature a greater variety of content streamed with shorter intermissions.
The AJ Stage and AJ Studio streams can be viewed with the purchase of a single ticket, and the AJ Stage will feature an English commentary stream supported by Anime Festival Asia. Each day costs 3,200 yen (approx. US$29.50), or both days are available for 6,100 yen (approx. US$56). These paid streams will only be accessible from Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and the United States.
