Just to correct one small mistake; if MAPPA didn't accept this, we would still have a final season. Committee would have to make the conditions and schedule better and wait for a 2021 release. MAPPA isn't some sort of a tragic hero, they are at fault as much as the committee. also WIT only got fixed money, doesn't Mappa have fixed money+ royalites due to being in the production? so yeah they made a worse product with more money. The royalties for being on the production is that they get a more share in profit |

Wdym, You expect god tier animation in 6 months. Stop bitching about it bro. WIT never earned money from SNK. They were never a part of the production company, and trust me be glad it is MAPPA. The final chapters will be a nightmare to adapt. MAPPA has a good CGI team compared to other studios so I trust them to do a great job. |

SirTristram said: Krugerman said: nah man, the thing is WIT is more focused on anime original projects cause they bring in more money to help them grow. Vinland Saga is an exception cause they are part of Production Committee That's exactly what I'm talking about. If committee gave a seat to them just like they did with MAPPA, they would earn money and keep making AoT untill the end. They were so fucked by the intensity of producing AoT and getting too little money, they decided to just drop it before the studio falls. They are producing the Vinland Saga season 2, what original anime are you talking about? They would focus both adaptations and originals. The Great Pretender and another series not sure if it's been said yet , But wit is doing a adaption of a series called Ousama Ranking |

@Mattinator95 It was a rhetorical question. I'm aware they are more focused on the original works thanks to their partnership with Netflix and such. I meant they wouldn't solely focus on original works and drop AoT if the revenue and the schedule was good. |

While I agree it's not as awesome, but I gotta admit that it is a pretty good CGI. It blends perfectly with the terrain and color scheme, much better than Season 2 Colossal Titan. But the landscape and city CGI are comparably worse than WIT. What's missing is those gritty skin textures WIT usually use on their 2D Titan. Other than that, I'd say cutting the production time with this is worth it. |

"it's unfair!" Dude really? Mappa is not your Mom, just an Animation-Studio xD Also the CGI is not bad, first of all. Second, it'll most likely free up some schedule/budget for well crafted scenes, that we wouldn't see if they focused too much on the Titans in the first Episode. So...CHILL, we're one Episode in. |

I don't know if that's the correctly word but yeah, why the people are saying the CGI are bad? Man, the CGI is clean and have GREAT moments, like the Jaw Titan running and get the soldiers. They have another vision of SnK, man! Let they do your job in piece. If you want a 2D BLASTER PERFECTION MEGA ANIMATION ... Make yourself a remake in 2037 xD Man Let's appreciate, just. That was a good comment, even if the CGI could be considered not-good, it's good enough to be remarkable and fitting to the experience, I still can't stop thinking about Reiner's transformation scene, that was good, and the whole sequence after that was pretty clean. Even though I clearly said it's "amazingly perfect" I take my words back, I can clearly see what people might have issues with, but those are just opinion wise, it's impossible to satisfy everybody but the quality of the CGI animation is near perfect for an anime with lower frame rates than 60fps. Yes man, you are right. I still can't stop thinking about Reiner's transformation scene too. It was sooooooooooo good and when he move your head was soo! CLEAN. That scene was amazing too, for different reasons. The CGI is awesome and people saying it's bad are clearly wanting something perfect out of an anime, stop looking at the bad parts (if there are even any) and start looking on the good parts, that's how you watch an anime, not like those people that give rating 1 to animes just because it's popular and be trying to find anything to hate on these days XD [quote=z7ProSpyce message=61329236] Good job trying to persuade people by showing one of the best scenes in all of the previous 3 seasons and a season 4, 3 second shot of Reiner simply standing up, now give me a gif of all the rest of the episode and people will surely disagree with you XD CGI is just good xD DissapointmentA said: Yeah sure... I don't understand since when cutting corners because the season was hard to animate become something to praise for. Wit had the same criticisms for its CGI Colossal, outsourced basement episode and weak Reiner vs Eren part 2 animation and they deserved it. MAPPA is doing much worse and going extra lengths to cut corners, they deserve more criticism and heat but all they get is applause. If you can't handle the workload, you don't take it. Simple as that, no excuse for CGI fight sequences. Besides, what else to focus on if not the first episode with action sequences? |

Okay guys, here's an idea for you: For all the people who think it's better to switch CGI now because they won't be able to handle the workload of latest chapters anyway, what would you think if I told you they are not going to adapt the latest chapters in this season? They could very well made it 2D until it was sincerely impossible. Considering they are much much bigger than the Wit, they should have been fine until shit goes south completely. This was the exception and clearly they failed to meet it. Basically, I fail to see how this is a valid excuse and point. This is a cop out. |

The amount of fanboys who can't accept criticism on the barely passable CGI is funny. The comparisons to WIT make sense btw. Simple, previous seasons were produced by 3-4 years after whatever season launch.. This season is produce 1 year after Season 3 (that’s insane), AOT is one of the most demandant animation projects and it’s very hard to produce it at 1 year.. that’s why Wit studio declined to animate the project... not only Wit, a lot of studios declined, Mappa is the only one that accept the project and they are making a good job with this shitty schedule.. is insane to do something like this and Mappa accept the project even with all the risk... You should be grateful with Mappa and Mad with PonyCanyon (producer) |

I can't even think of one Reiner did either. Now I couldn't see a single shot that they WEREN'T CG, not a single fucking frame, even the close-ups, I know I'm gonna love this season but it really is so goddamn jarring. I absolutely loved Reiners animation. Same. Its one of my favorite shows ever and I dropped a tear every time a titan moves in this first episode. Can't believe they'll CGI every titan fight scene in this final season. |

Probably some of the best CGI in anime currently. Just be happy that we actually have the Final season already, instead of having to wait 1-2 more years, or having a Berserk level CGI adaption. theyre using cgi precisely because of the terrible scheduling Yeah, but I guess they don't want what happened with S1->S2. All the hype was killed in about two years. |

For example take s3p2 ep 2 and compare to s2ep7. Sure s3p2 ep 2 had some important action but it's not high stake as s2 ep 7 or s3p2 ep 4 or 5 The comparison will still incorrect lol ... Why he don't make a comparison of CGI vs CGI?! This guy is making a comparison of two different types of animation and the people agree with this lol. Like, WTF??? lol ... ????????????????????????? the point is that WIT only made colossal CGI and rest are 2D with a lot of details and love put into it (beast titan closeups) while Mappa put everything as CGI how do you want me to give you armored titan CGI when WIT didn't make him CGI? the ones agreeing are saying WIT 2D style is better then Mappa's CGI/3D style it just looks like a game model inside of an anime instead of full on anime This is exactly what I've been trying to say, but everyone caught up in their mappa circle jerk denial session completely ignores it, these are titans that have never been cg before, think about what that says about the studio, the cg is good in terms of anime cg, it still looks like the ps3 version of borderlands but it's quality stuff. That said, the limitations of cgi are blatantly obvious, any type of fluid movement looks incredibly janky and unnatural, like when the beast titan T-poses all the way to the ground like a broken Skyrim model. |

If WIT studio did this first episode, it would be full of stills. CGI makes action scenes way more dinamic just like this first episode. Now, look at Reiner vs Eren in S3 P2. A fucking slideshow. I loved WiT studio too, don't get me wrong but those who criticize Mappa are not being objective. Also, why no one is talking about the beautiful art, the extremely detailed characters designs, the superb direction, the good compositing (a lot of people owe an apology to Shigeki Asakawa, myself included)... |
