Loved the episode.
That Mami is playing some bad mind games with Mizuhara.
Ruka looks so good with the new dress.
The Bridge scene and the apartment scene was really good.

Dammit! Just as Kazuya wanted to make it official for real with Ruka, fate told him NO! Here comes the revelation that Mami know about Chizuru being a rental gf of Kazuya, oh but what's this? Mami wanted Chizuru to drop the act with Kazuya? Hmmmn... Why might she want that? Perhaps... Because Mami is a jealous piece of shit who feel dissatisfied when pathetic dumbass like Kazuya gets to live a more cheerful life compared to her boring monotone life?!

It's clear as day that Mami's life is so utterly boring that she dated Kazuya, the pathetic guy he is to spice her own lie up, but now that she's seeing how happy he is, it got to her nerves. Well, that fact alone is absolutely hilarious, nothing is more pathetic than being jealous of another pathetic person.

Anyways, if Kazuya was infinitely smarter and more confident than he is, the quickest and most impactful way to solve the situation at the karaoke is quite simple...

  • Ask Ruka whether she has deleted her rental gf account
  • Tell Ruka a brief explanation of his relationship with Mami (he already explained Chizuru before)
  • Tell her of this plan:
  • Come hand in hand and enter the room Chizuru and Mami is in like fucking chad
  • Proclaim that Ruka is his real official gf and kiss her right on the spot while giving off the most shit-eating grin and smug that he could to Chizuru and Mami.

These ^^^ events I've listed would have made me = personally utterly satisfied beyond belief. Would've given me an orgasm of satisfaction, but alas, Kazuya is neither smart nor is he confident. But I'd read a fanfic following this scenario if there is any tbh.

Welp, the show is absolutely infuriating with Kazuya being one of the most insufferable MC in this show. It's honestly extremely difficult to watch but I ended up watching straight to finish. Nice. At the very least the show ended with a somewhat good note with Kazuya directly confessing his true love for Chizuru before awkwardly shifting his meaning to something else. Damn man.

S2 is coming but by the time it does, I would've completely caught up to the latest chapter of Kanojo Okarishimasu's manga. What a shitshow it is and I'm glad I watched it.

Ruka-chan is maturing, she's now ready to go all out to get Kazuya but at the same time not being too much pushy and possessive like in the previous episodes. Ruka-chan is now my 2nd place best girl. lol

Sumi-chan is still shy, but I'm not expecting immediate development from her since she appeared for two episodes only. lol

Mami-chan is still problematic. Why she keeps on chasing Kazuya, she's the one who broke up with him in the first place? lol. I don't understand what's going on in her mind. She's just probably bored or her ego was struck because Kazuya found someone better than her. She can't accept the fact that Kazuya is happy, while she's so miserable. lol

Best Girl Chizuru is so brilliant, kind, caring and understanding. But, she's not that honest to herself. After dating for a year, it isn't surprising that she started to like Kazuya. Welp, partly thanks to Mami-chan, she's now starting to realize that. And, ofc, after that confession! But, ugh, Kazuya suddenly chickened out. Welp, Season 2 was already announced so I'm just gonna wait for the real development in their relationship.

I really enjoyed this show. It's so entertaining.

The first image in this episode sums up the series pretty well: a trash can filled with tissues saturated with Kazuya's virgin jizz.

I don't know about anybody else, but "masturbation as a coping mechanism" (to me, personally) was never funny. My gut hurts from finding out that a large number of people enjoy this and the manga based on this. I nearly cry from this crushing depression from this bullshit. And yeah, this world's been pretty much filled with bullshit, but this takes the cake.

Now, because of Rent-A-GF's popularity; there will be more animu and mango filled with male leads who end up fantasizing, being delusional, and jizzing in their tissues instead of trying to form actual relationships and achieving their goals. Because that's where the money is; the helltons of people who "lost at life" will buy and support the next Reiji and works like these.

There. I just needed to get this off my chest.

Tissue Papers got introduced first. That's KAZUYA for you. :)

TISSUE paper -- best girl.
MIZUHARA -- My favorite girl.

08:32"It all pisses me off just a teensy bit." ------> Lol, MAMI expresses herself to CHIZURU, which is quite funny how she says with her facial expressions.

KAZUYA be like "She Knew!"
"MIZUHARA's is not in the wrong here."

"How do you feel? about KAZUYA-san?"
"Have you ever faced his feelings for you head-on and in good faith?"
"Have you ever considered that he could be the one to make you happy for life?"
--------- and that's how KAZUYA got free from MAMI-chan, by her conversation with CHIZURU. Whether or not it's MAMI's true feelings is a different matter.

KAZUYA : "You're the one i want.
MIZUHARA : Quit being misleading.
KAZUYA : Later! and remember, lack of sleep if bad for the skin!
----------------------------------------------------
btw, CHIZURU x KAZUYA would be great.

Thank You :)

I liked this show, everything okay except for the MC. Chizuru best girl of this summer season from here to the moon.

I'm really curious about mami development, I hope next season we'll get more of her and explanations of why she is like that, I mean, I think she's not a flat antagonist, she has her reasons and I look forward her redemption.

They mentioned The Peggies and halca Pog. I'll dropkick Kazuya man... Not even finishing his confession towards Ruka, Spying (again) and confessing to Mizuhara to just sike her 2 seconds later. Next season will be pretty Pog. I just hope they dont make Mami a love interest again. We have a nice line-up of top tier waifu love interests so Mami can feck off.

Yeah, kazuya has no character development at all. Nothing special about him. And everything so messed up.

So I don’t care for season2.

The onlly thing keep me on watching is the humor.

And the rental thing sounds like prostitution. Imagine having date with multiple guys some may be old dudes (yeah I know that no sexual or kissing) but that sounds MESSED UP right?

Oh brother. That's screwed up. I expected solid ending in this episode, yet all I got was Kazuya being Kazuya- LIKE, DUDE, YOU EVEN FINALLY SAID IT, AT LEAST KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT OR WALK AWAY TO AT LEAST PRETEND YOU HAVE A PAIR. LIKE, WHAT'S WITH THAT LAME-ASS WAY TO DODGE THE MATTER, ARE YOU WHAT, KAIKI DEISHUU WITH HIS "JUST KIDDING" AND STUFF?

I apologize for that.

I liked the episode overall tbh. The ChisuruXMami talk was tense. Chisuru is still best girl(and yes I decided it for myself from the very first episode) and Kazuya is Kazuya. Ruka gives me complicated vibes though, I kinda feel for Kazuya on that front.

Good thing season 2 was announced. Maybe there we'll see some real development... "I want you as my rental girlfriend" my ass.

It's weird how the rental industry has become so developed in modern Japan. I mean, not so long ago, the "paid dating" thing was a a bit of a national scandal there, especially since some younger girls were participating in it, and the line between it and prostitution was (and is) fuzzy at times.

But since then, it has evidently become its own cottage industry with adult professionals and standards and apps etc., such that you can now have a relatively innocent show about it full of the usual anime virgins.

My feelings about the show are that it was engaging, sure, but kinda took some cheap ways to arrive at the drama. The author really went to the "Oh, we just happened to all run into each other here." well one or two thousand times too often. And even the delights of cringe get old after a while, when its all but by itself. If you want cringe, stuff like Watamote was funnier, albeit even more cruel and with an arguably even trashier MC with only about as much development.

It was kind of interesting as an odd mixture of the relatively down to earth and realistic things, like the realities of an overly clingy younger girl friend, or the ways that first breakup can mess with some people, and unrealistic things like the unlikely relations and the usual endless harem anime delaying tactics.

It's revealing that some of the show's most potent moments come out of one or the other of the characters calling the others out on how nonsensical their situations or behaviors are, whether it's MC's friend telling him to straighten up, or Ruka pointing out the obvious about his rather elongated relationship with a rent-a-girl. The author is evidently self aware.

That there were multiple moments where it's implied that no sane and decent person can ever have sex with someone they are not essentially engaged to marry (at one point the friend literally screams this idea in the MC's face, even if it is played for laughs) felt unreal in modern times too. MC's false chivalry is showing, and never feels entirely real, between his many masturbation sessions.

And that's kind of the weird space the show occupies, as it touches on realities that other shows sometimes gloss over, but at the same time, it feels more like an otaku culture fantasy than like anything more relatable to modern real life experience, despite its relatively down to earth moments.

This leads to the usual circle jerk in critical commentary about this sort of thing -If you are critical of the fantasy aspects, you will probably be reminded that's it's not supposed to be realistic, as if that means anything goes and any plot holes are automatically filled. But at the same time, the more realistic and cringe elements are largely what make people watch to begin with, so it's hard to honestly discuss the thing without noting the contrasting elements. Oh well.

wow what a climax that was , someone seems to really care about Kazuya unlike others that are just pure envious , also the thing with Ruka was kinda sad because he didnt finish what he was gonna say while Ruka understood what he was on about , but even if he did that relationship wouldnt work/last leaving Ruka heartbroken
nice song choice we all love BunnyGirlSenpai op
and finally i thought they would make Kazuya confess at some point but having seen some 12ep anime with a second season (which i learned that got announced an ep before) i thought they were gonna let him do it next season
thought they did it but at the same time didnt , i dont blame him thats a normal reaction tbh
we also saw Mizuhara's reaction , fucking , pure , cuteness
anyway closing off having not read the manga or LN i wanna believe that the next season is gonna be at least as good as this one , much love to the studio <33

What a fucking ending lol. Kazuya can't follow through on his confession, which is very on brand. All in all, a very interesting anime. I liked it more than I thought I would, if only the fact that I came back every week to hate on Kazuya a little more. Maybe the side arcs with the other girls could have been cut, especially Sumi. She really only showed up as filler before the finale in the 11th episode, could have been saved for next season. Ruka was an interesting diversion, but the main drama of the anime was Mami lol. Either way, looking forward to season 2.

How many great moment Kazuya had?
I can count two: diving to save Chizuru, but in the end she gave him cpr and second thing telling his friend that he also had rental girlfriend, but in a strange way...
Fist fight with friend was ultra lame and for a bad reason if you wanna name it as third thing.

He may be the lamest protagonist of all anime I've watched, but well I don't care as I watch it for Chizuru mostly ;]
I hoped it would be first anime when protagonists actually ends up with the main girl and they live happy ever after. I would give it a 10/10 if second season ends like that, but it probably won't.
I am tired of multiple routes things and harems like this one where you have many girls going after one guy.

A full season completed and some people still can't come to grips with the concept of a flawed protagonist. Self-Insert isekai has ruined us, hasn't it?

It's completely valid to cringe at everything that Kazuya does- that's the point, he's supposed to be a cringeworthy scumbag (at least he is self aware now at the end though). It doesn't inherently make the show worse, in fact, it means the story is accomplishing its aim, telling the story it wants to tell.

Still. there are plenty of other valid reasons to dislike the show. The soundtrack was lacking, beautiful moments of animation were interspersed with lower quality scenes with the same damn filter put in the corner. And if you didn't like the story, that's okay, I won't blame you for that.

All in all though, I had a fun time, and I'll certainly watch season two when it airs. 7/10.

Interesting season finale. Not full fireworks maybe, but some tense moments. First telling Ruka he wants to make their relationship official, then backing out when he sees Mami and Chizuru walk past. No matter how much some may hate Ruka (and whether there are really reasons to hate her, or just a combination of misunderstanding and grudge, not realizing where she is coming from with her messed up childhood and life) she doesn't deserve being toyed with that much. She clearly truly likes him but just isn't too smart in how to show that. Still, it's her first time ever feeling these strong emotions, that's certain to make you get messed up inside.

Speaking of messed up, I'm hoping someday we get some backstory on Mami. How did she end up being this devious, evil and then turn to perfect cheerleader smile over the blink of an eye, and being all bubbly and nice? Something must have happened to her either before she met Kazuya or when they were still dating, because her actions make no sense at all, unless she's just a crazy basket case, beyond redemption.

The ending was quite tense too, but turned out as expected. Even if I hadn't read the manga, I would have known it would again be a near-confession.

Despite some flaws in the characters, still looking forward to season 2. Any news of a release date, or is that still to be decided upon?

Her personality still trash but surprisingly Mami dropped some hard truth, tho was super tense for Chizuru. Chizuru sees the relation as bandage for mc, while Mami reasonably point out the fake couple as the obstacle blocking Kazuya from moving forward into a real relationship. Like Ruka almost got it this ep, but mc just had to lol.

Well, for peak cringe this was relatively fun romcom with nice art, strong personalities. Plus bit of character dev, Kazuya going from simp ntr liar mc to well, slightly better. Thx for the epic Aqua faces, and better have more Sumi in s2.

Mami's passive-aggressiveness is something to behold.

All things considered, the conclusion was anti-climatic. Kazuya still has not realised the value of keeping his mouth shut at appropriate moments.

Then again, the more Chizuru on the screen, the better. So long for now.

So... This show is absolute trash, but, in my perspective, it was really enjoyable trash.

Someone give me the power to enter this anime and send Kazuya to the fucking hospital. Man, he was just a garbo protagonist, he pissed me off to the moon and back. BUT, he did manage to realize that Chizuru is the one for him (while fapping omegalul) as the time went by, at least i give him that. Though, him quiet, he is a poet.

Chizuru on the other hand, goddamn, she is top tier waifu material, and i don't have to say anything else. I still wonder why she does the rental girlfrind business tho, really curious about that, hopefully we can know about it during the 2nd season.

7/10, yup, another one of my guilty pleasures along with HxEros

I disagree, there have been many scenes throughout the anime where he has shown some character development. People just say that he doesn't because either they hate the show, hate how he acts, or both.

And abt RUKA there too he was playing good man as he can do what ever with her but he still not accepting her as his gf instead he still have love for that btch + new feelings for chizuru

I agree the MC can be annoying most of the time but he pussied out on the confession (I understand its a cliche scenario since manga is on going) .Though he had the courage from previous episodes to state what was on his mind at the time.

Dang, Mizuhara got taken aback there by that sudden confession, but man, she can clearly maintain a cool and straight face, until such time. Anyway, I guess this series isn't that bad at all.. apart from Kazuya. I vote for Mizuhara! 8/10

Now the waiting game begins for the 2nd season.

I thought that was a really good way to wrap up the first season. I’m anime only and from my perspective it was satisfying. I’m excited for s2, and I hope we get it by next summer, but it’ll probably take longer.

I know everyone hates Kazuya, but I don’t mind him. Yeah he started off as an idiot and kinda holds some of those traits towards the end as well, but at the same time, he’s only in these situations because of the actions he did at the beginning of the show and these past actions are just following him around. If anything, I think Mami is the worst character (though she brings in a good amount of drama and entertainment for us).

I’m hoping to see more character development in the next season since we’ve now had all of our introductions to the main cast.

Whilst I love Mizuhara, I know Sumi is gonna wreck me too, the little cutie!
