Good with some romance between the MC. I like romance happening in a middle of a show but this time it seemed to fast? But the whole show is like on crack anyway. Last scene? Don´t care about that girl. Use political sex is nothing new. Was no rape either. She was given the choice to have a military alliance or not. one with includes sleep with him to have the alliance. when i think about it don´t care so much about this show anyway XD |

Wow mamy has mixed reaction on this episode based on the poll. But for me i like this one, the one that catches me is the Theo and Sillica kissing and confession scene. Nice one atleast they have to know what they are feeling for each other. The ONE THAT MADE ME SURPRISED IS THE Princess marrine just have sex with the prince Milza just to have him as her allied in the war. (Just feeling sas for Alexis though) |

look i don't care about the last scene. my concern is the war crime given the spoilers i have read so far i want to know i read that marine ends up with alexis and thats fine people make mistakes and rulers are no different so basically she joins the good guys with/under theo but if this only happens because milza overthrow her and she didn't do anything grand to redeem the war crime she committed with the miasma then i cant help but lose all respect for the good guys on this show . so i guess what i want to know is if she redeems herself from this war crime or not |

Seems like they've became really close this episode. That embrace and kiss! About time! The fighting on the battlefield got more intense. Marrine is also definitely not a woman to underestimate when it comes to war conflicts. Those last few minutes though..wow. Virginity for loyalty...poor Alexis. Sigh. |

So while the main ship set sail, Marrine has demonstrated that she is willing to do... probably anything at all if it brings her closer to victory in the end, and Milza is now working with her. So we have our good couple, whose all good times, kind, and forgiving, trying to spare as many lives as possible while bringing peace to the world. And we have our bad couple, which is is willing to do whatever is necessary to achieve their goals, no matter what others think. I quite like the contrast they're showing between the characters here. |

I rewatched the episode and I have a few more disappointments I'd like to bring up... As well as what I would like to see in the future. Disappointment 1: Siluca doesn't say "I love you" back to Teo. She asks him if he noticed her feelings, implying she has them for him, but only implying at this stage. Then she states that it's important and wants to makes things clear, in a really serious tone. But instead of saying "I love You, too" she asks him a question... "Can I take it as you love me?" He says he does and they kiss... She surprised by the kiss, but she never responses with the phrase. She just dodged the issue. Disappointment 2: Marriene continues to pine for Alexis despite doing everything in her power to go against him. She continues to show concern for his well-being as we as a concern on what he would think of what she's been doing. The problem I has with this is that her feelings are second to everything else. Disappointment 3: Marriene still cares about Alexis and all but admitted to it with her reaction to Mirz's prodding. But these feelings and concern played no part in her decision to sleep with him. I'm disappointed that she didn't even think about it. He laid the terms on the table and she just agreed... No second thought, no negotiation, no deliberation, nothing. She's just okay... Whatever you want. This is AFTER she had already taken the castle so she didn't need his help at that moment for anything. She literally gave everything up him on a whim it seems. Who doesn't even think about a decision like that? There was a lovely bit of foreshadowing earlier in the episode when Villar tells Siluca that he "doesn't want to betray Alexis like that." I thought that was a bit funny. I'm not dropping the series, yet... I want to see how this 'incident' affects Marriene's character and personality. Does it wake her up a bit? Does she get crueler and angrier? does she get depressed? Is dead inside now? Plus, I want to see what happens when Alexis finds out... How does that affect Mari? If nothing changes and everything is business as usual for Mari after this than I'm sorry but I might have to drop the series... You don't do something like that and get out unscathed. There is bound to be something, anger, sadness, guilt. Something... Anything... If not then that will be my Disappointment 4. |

SHE notes it. sigh to juch stupid after theo and sil kissed. So much sensitive people here, but well i liked this episode, since the start i know this princess will do everything for win. Well, its very disgusting i know, but she may thinks the ends justifies the middle, "if its not forever i will take one night" its racional but....well cold as fuck. But even if i know what she thinks its not like i agree, for me is stupid her behavior. that still fails to answer any of the points; Why is she* fighting this war.. she could marry the guy she wanted. No war unified empire.. but.. she chooses war. Kills.. and then This? its like watching someone initallyy intelligent simply turn into a dumb tyrant skilled only in war itself nearly. As noted marry the guy she likely still loves and unified continent. Or uh.. whatever the heck shes doing. I don't agree with Marrines logic in this episode but I'm going to try and go through what I can only imagine to be her thinking. She was never the one who thought this relationship with Alexis would end well. She tells him it would only end in tragedy. Yet he convinced her of the wedding anyways, and she let herself believe they could be happy together. Then the day of the wedding the whole chaos attack takes place and the fathers are killed. Marrine might have taken this as proof that her love is forbidden and dangerous and yadda yadda yadda, I'm sure you can get the point. She might now think that she is a fool for being in love, and is trying to avoid the tragedy of pursuing him. Maybe she doesn't believe that their marriage can result in anything good now? So she must take the Emperor title by force. Not exactly sound logic, but I can only imagine that the thinking that got her to this point. |

The second part focusing more on ambition of Marrine and lengths she was willing to go to in order to achieve her goal of uniting the continent and thus uniting the crests. This scene where she approved the usage of Miasma, was interesting. The scene rubbed me the wrong way and this one character summed up my thinking at the time when he said " is this how the continent's most powerful knights fight". Though, I guess it was the most efficient strategy because it effectively incapacitated the union soldiers and saved the forces of the Alliance from any casualties. |

It's just that scene out of fcking nowhere was shocking. And I'm pretty sure we are pretty desensitized to watching innocent people getting killed in anime. Doesn't make it right, but just reality. Plus, the guy was a grumpy old man that wouldn't listen to anyone's advice. I was mad that his stubbornness got his soldiers killed. But rape/ coercive sex has a whole other psychological affect. Killing isn't the same type of deep violation of the body. I mean it is common sense. Women in ancient civilizations would literally willingly commit suicide before a war began becuase they didn't want to become raped/sex slaves if their country lost the battle. And especially after they spent the whole episode last time showing how Alexis and the queen's relationship was formed. Almost every-time we've seen her int his anime she thought about Alexis saying stuff like "What would Alexis think of this." And when the scene was happening a tear went down her eye in the beginning so it's pretty clear she was thinking about him while banging that fkcing piece of trash. And then she puts on a strong face and goes through with it like she doesn't give a shit. I already hated the guy anyways because he was such a douche so that kinda made it worse. |

God, this episode was really good and then went downhill so fast. I really like the growing dynamic between Theo and Siluca but the NTR shit made me want to puke. I don't know why but I actually thought this was a fairly logical outcome from the last episode. Yes, I hated that the scene had to happen right after Theo and Siluca confirm each other's feelings, but it makes sense in context. We know at this point Marrine has given up on being with Alexis. We know she is determined to conquer and bring peace. We know she believes Mirza is a necessary ally. From Mirza's end, I don't honestly think a man like him is concerned about having sex with Marrine. I think he was disappointed in Villar for not walking the path of the conquerer. I think he was impressed with Marrine's ruthlessness but he's concerned about Marrine not being able to follow through on her goal. So he's preempting her by basically stripping her of virginity and making it so she would not have the face to go back to Alexis and give up her ambitions. Yes, that thinking is totally backwards. But given the setting, that's pretty much what he's going for. So I don't think it was a scene done for the sake of just fucking with the audience. There's some shock factor, yes. But if anything I think more highly of this series for this setup, even though I personally really, really hate it. |

Jagd84 said: AbattoirRat said: GreenEmu said: Jesus those last few minutes. They made that scene pretty explicit. To be honest I felt disgusted watching it. It felt like fan service at the cost of character development. I'm confused what the ending scene meant to convey. I could see her throwing her virginity away, tarnishing herself in a "point of no return" kind of way to sever her feelings, to focus on her goals, but in this way? It just felt like sloppy writing. There was room for debauchery and character development, but on a whim? It wasn't even a condition for their alliance. He just asked and she said okay. And I know this goes beyond anime logic, but yes, please, lets strip defenseless in front of the assassin who currently works for my enemy. TL; DR - The sex was pointless and hurt the show. Conquest is an euphemism for sex in this kind of context. Everybody both knew what he meant when he stated that which is Marrine's attendants where freaked out. And more amused that a lot of people her are more outraged about the consensual than the fact she just used chemical warfare and violated the equivalent of Geneva Convention in their world. Who knows what kind of atrocities she is willing to commit now that she has crossed that line? Enternal said: Tokoya said: I swear to god, every time I think that this forum cannot possibly get even more hilariously stupid, I end up being horribly wrong Like Jesus Christ what is this thread even lol, do any of you vanilla posters even know what rape is? How in the flying fuck was this anything close to rape xD This woman gave consent and that alone warrants this as not being rape And don't get me started on this NTR shit too lol, her and Alexis aren't even together....Like have any of you ever watched any type of medieval program before? Rulers of kingdoms like this always do this kind of stuff whether or not its marrying off into another family to unite them or cases like this I can't believe that this thread is full of all this bitching lol....Regardless, this episode was GREAT, the only ship that matters fully took off, the action scenes were awesome, the example of guerilla warfare with the miasma attack was spot on (It's supposed to be petty like that) and that ending was just wow lol....Did not expect that to happen at all but hey, stuff like this happens It's considered coercion rape (legal phrasing is sexual coercion) where one party pressured the other into sex through promising something. In this situation, he basically gave her a "choice" between having sex with him to win or don't have sex with him and lose. A bit similar to having your family held hostage and the perpetrator give you a choice to save your family by having sex with him. You don't have to save your family. In addition, her expression and tears during the whole thing was clearly saying "no." Even the maids were crying. That's clearly a "no." That's what made the whole scene disgusting. Added to the insult, apparently neither were actually enjoying it. It was simply a test of conviction. Either way, like you said, what matters is the true ship that took off and that was GLORIOUS. I don't think that applies in this case. First she came to him and he gave her demands and she accepted. It was not something she was forced to do as the option of turning it down and walking away was there. She could have still won the war without his help, it would just been much harder. Honestly there seems to be a lot of opinions on whether or not the ending was rape. As far as I'm concerned it can't be considered rape. Immoral and undesirable maybe but not rape. If we are to assume rape means a lack of consent then already the argument is settled. She gave full consent and at no point said or otherwise hinted that what was happening needed to stop. If the argument is that it was coercive then I STILL have a problem with that argument because to be coerced implies compelling someone to do something by force, intimidation or by use of authority. None of these apply in this case. 1)If force was used, he would've held her down against her will like the stereotypical rape case. 2)He didn't intimidate her into it either. He gave her an option and she held her head high and said yes. 3)Obviously he has no authority over her so that's out too. She's the LEADER of a faction. She has power, she's not some farm girl or slave. She can be a big girl and say no. She had options and suggesting she didn't is ridiculous. If Miruza was 100% necessary to win the war why the hell wage war in the first place? What were you gonna do if he asked for your head instead of your body? So those are out. No drugs were used either, so she wasn't under any influence. Hmm what does that leave us with? Basically the only argument this is rape is that she didn't like it. But you don't have to like it. Marrine basically decided to use her body as currency. She wanted something, he wanted something, so they struck a deal. The end. It isn't pleasant, I certainly did not enjoy seeing that and wish it didn't happen but no rape occurred. Rape is a serious enough topic that I'd prefer it not be thrown around without thought. Now what I can say this was, was some serious NTR shit. My poor boy Alexis. thepath said: JeffxBrian said: All right..so let me inform you...when you blackmail/coerce someone..say you tell a girl you'll only take her home or drive her home if she sleeps with you. She has the option to walk but she goes through with it but she doesn't want to..that's rape. Coercion doesn't have to be a you only have one choice situation. Coercing..it's like..saying I spent this much on you, now give me sex. Rape doesn't have to be straight sex...say you're having sex and the girl looks uncomfortable and obviously says no nonverbally. You stop. Otherwise you'd just be raping her. The facial expression, the body language, the tears...if you continue, that's called rape. This was forced sex. Look at her expression. I just hope they follow through with some realism and have her experience ptsd or other symptoms raped victims express. She was just sexually violated. What about prostitutes who have sex with their customers, because they are doing it for money and not because they want it. So, do you think that this also "forced sex" ?! Just replace money with "political/military power". This what Marrine did xx_BeastMaster64 said: DROPPED , say no to NTR. Say Yes to NTR ^As for the above. First of all, say NO TO NTR. C'mon we don't need NTR (only in hentai). Prostitute thing is a excellent example except in the case of brothels and girls with pimps who MAKE them do that job. But free prostitutes exists so would you consider that rape? No right because its a transaction between both parties. Prostitute wants money, client wants sex. Marrine wants strength/fighting power from Miruza. Miruza wants to be a dick and screw a pretty girl. However that car example interests me because that is a clear example of rape but that doesn't compare to what happened in this episode. Blackmail is coercion so it's rape. Also if the guy took her out knowing he was her only ride back, that's manipulative and also can be considered rape. But if she's just some chick that asks some random person for a ride and they say sure, but the payment is sex. She should either say yes or no. If she says yes, it's not rape. That's ridiculous. There was a transaction there. (Immoral asf but both parties get what they want.) On a final note: um did they use a condom (do they even have those)? How is it smart to get potentially knocked up by a foreign prince (that didn't swear loyalty!)? I mean where the fuck is the insurance that he's gonna actually help anyway!? Marrine be dumb asf. I feel bad for her but she makes some pretty bad decisions. Either you're team Theo or you lose! Duh. |

The last two episodes really stepped it up in terms of overall impact - was actually about to drop it since the first 7 episodes were really "meh", and the world building wasn't too effective. Thought I'd post here after seeing all the butthurt from whatever happened this episode. Is Marianne a whore? Definitely not. Why? Because she was forced into that position by circumstance, did she have a choice? In terms of her goal of reunifying the whole country, probably not. There shouldn't be any deus ex machina bullshit that offers a magical solution where everyone is happy, this work isn't about that. Ep 8 built up the romeo-juliet like thing between Marianne and Alexis just so that last few minutes of Ep 9 will be that much more heartbreaking. Marianne is a respectable character, she did what she needed to do for her goals, she made the choice between her family honor and Alexis. Sure, it's more beautiful to throw away a whole country for someone you love, romantic - sure, but that's not her character AT ALL. Alexis has conquered her heart through his gentleness. He has melted her cold and ruthless exterior and reach into her maiden heart, and no one can take away from that. In terms of virginity or whatnot, that is nothing in comparison to unification, and finally end up as empress and emperor with Alexis. Did I enjoy those last few minutes? Definitely not, I love Marianne and I'm also a sucker for all Kayano Ai characters. Hopefully we'll see some epic death for the edgelord "I love war/ I only follow the strong", or a insignificant one - suitable for the scum that he is. |

Just real quick, I think a lot of people are blindly putting 100% of Marines actions on her, and while that last scene definitely was all her, lets talk about the miasma part real quick. Her mage is clearly up to some shit, first fucking with Theo joining the alliance, and then proposing to use a chemical attack. If you take a look at the manga, which I think just covers the whole Theo getting turned down from the Alliance, It gives a little more depth to Marine's mage and honestly, something just is not right with that guy. So yes, ultimately the decisions lie on her and they are tremendously awful, but lets not forget the hand guiding her down this path as well. |

Theo x Siluca ship sailed unexpectedly so fast, and that’s the only good thing about this episode. Thank god I never ship Alexis x Marrine, but poor guy. If Marrine wants a world peace, why on earth she didn’t married the guy?? And instead making another war with dirty tactics and worst of all whoring herself for the sake of her country??? Bullshit! I hope she will get killed. |

I haven't watch the anime since episode 6 cause i got a feeling that this anime will turn into a drama Fuckfest. So i put this on "HOLD" And i was right...lol i feel bad for the people who are angry and piss at what happen to the princess, i do understand that feeling. Im still not gonna watch it tho. i bet that the next drama shit that we will get is about siluca. And if u love this anime for the ship then i recommend that u will prepare urselves for the worst. |
