I have to agree although I wish I could be wrong. Chihayafuru definitely deserves another season seeing how popular the manga and animes were but now that 2014 is drawing to a close and no news of a 3rd season being announced at all, I feel like there really won't be any.... I just hope that there will will be one though. Maybe they're still waiting for how the manga will end and see how to make the next season from that. @_@ |

| Is there like a time in a year where lots of animes gets announced? ( new animes and new seasons ) or is there like an event that occurs? Like for video games, theres this thing called e3, where it occurs around June, and a lot of trailers and new announced games gets shown. |

| I took the day to rewatch Chihayafuru and, god, I need a season 3. elouised said: I am caught up with the manga and I don't think there is enough content to do a third season yet. I think there's enough material for a season 3 already. Or almost there. But I'm not really sure until where they would cover, since I really hope Madhouse announces Chihaya 3 after Ore monogatari! ends. I REALLY HOPE. If they announce the 3rd season I'm making a Chihayafuru tattoo. |

| no season 3. it probably didn't gain enough viewership or sell well enough when the dvds hit stores in Japan. best to look towards reading the manga where the season left off. |

| this series is josei with virtually no fanservice. it was a miracle that it even manage to get 2 seasons. a 3rd season is unlikely, but one can always hope. |

| Glad that I wasnt the only one hoping and waiting for season 3. I just finished the anime last night and cant get it out of my head ever since. Now, I would be very happy to watch a season 3. |
| I'm really hopeful for a third season, it's a really great series! I just checked out the current rankings and the manga is selling like hotcakes, the first two seasons of the anime are pretty popular, so I see no reason not to do a 3rd season. I guess there needs to be more content out before they sign on for another full-length season. The manga is at vol. 30 currently, so in a year or so we might get the announcement. Here's hoping ^_^ |

| I think a third season is very possible since they released an OVA, and anime don't normally end with OVA's. But then again, there has been no official announcement. :( |

| I'm glad I watched this now because if hopefully there is another season coming the wait won't be so long? But I really need the 3rd season, this show was great and I truly cared about the characters u _u I do have hope though, since some series have been getting more seasons after 4-5 years, like Mushishi and Natsume Yuujinchou. |
| For now, there are not many new updates on the anime series, BUT there are some on the live-action movies. As it seems the third movie was green-lit and is in it's production right now and estimated to be released in 2018. Current Chihayafuru live action movie updates If you're interested please also visit the forum Chihayafuru live action movie!? which focusses on updates of the Chihayafuru live-action movies. More replies on this forum would show a bigger interest in the franchise for sure as well. ;) Furthermore, I think we should all share our love for this franchise more with others, there are so many people interested in anime and live-action movies, who don't know about Chihayafuru. Almost everyone, I showed this series, really likes it. In addition to that the live-action movie(s) is one of the very few good adaptions on the market which I think are pretty good. I'm looking forward to new updates and hope we all will be blessed with a third season for the anime. As it seems for now, I don't expect a third season announcement for this year and probably not for 2018 as well, but I think thanks to the live-action movies it is more likely that we will get this sequel we wish for. EDIT: Just found another thing! Chihayafuru Anime Gets English Dub! I think this makes it more likely to be recognized by the international community! Yatta! :D |
