I do that very often and I have no problem at all, it's not like that all shows require a lot of attention in every scene.

Pro tip, eat a steak while watching Pupa.

90% of the time I don't eat while watching anime anyway. But when I do it's usually not a problem. If it's "plate food" then I simply pause it and eat for a bit then unpause the video for a bit - repeat the cycle.

I also find eating plate food difficult because I either watch on my phone while on the bed or while sitting with my laptop on the table which both have small places available for me to place the food.

If I do eat, it's mostly just snacks and while watching SoL/comedy anime.

I do it regularly. I've always pretty much enjoyed some form of media (TV/Anime/Movie) while eating a meal to start off.

Subbed or Dubbed, doesn't really make a difference to me.

Even with plate food, still manageable for me. Worst comes to worst, I'll actually pause the video for a quick second if I need to focus on my food (E.G Cutting up my frozen pizza into slices or something.) or rewind if I missed some detail/what was said.

For the most part though, it's a fluent experience either way for me. No pausing/rewinding. I guess because I don't really inspect my food after sitting down or eat articulately. So I don't really need to look back down at my food really.

For something (E.G Eating Rice) that I might need to scoop up though I'll usually just hold the plate/bowl close so even if I look down for a second, my monitor is still in my line of sight so I don't miss anything.

I used to do that once a while. But poor experiences with Parasyte, Attack on Titan etc ruining my appetite put a stop to that.

How though? I mean if you're eating lunch and decide to watch some anime at the table? That's not a fat person... I mean people eat and watch shit on devices like it part of human culture...

I don't eat anything while watching anime, because it's annoying.

I usually eat beforehand cos if I'm hungry I can't conentrate but when I do I don't have an issue. But I also can't just sit and watch anime (most of the time) so I've long since gotten used to multitasking whie watching anime and barely missing any subs.
Dubbed I agree with though makes it harder to hear.

It's the only way I'm watching anime/tv shows/movies now, really...

I'm also kind of a "selective eater" when I pick the food to go to my mouth, but eating out of a bowl whith all of your food mixed in it helps. Wraps are easy to eat while watching a screen, same as things like fries. I tend to eat really slowly, putting down my spoon between each big bites, and only look down on my bowl for half a second to know what i'll eat, so I don't miss much. If I do, I just rewind a few seconds and that's it.

I also really enjoy reading manga/books while eating, it's even better, really.

Not if you eat normally and watch an anime at eating hours, not the other way around (like having to eat any time you watch an anime episode and ending up snacking all day long).

When I'm eating or doing homework or working on some project, I like to watch or listen to something. But, because I watch sub anime, I just don't seem to be doing anything like I watch the whole episode but the plate is still half full. Or like I have 5 tasks of maths to do but I do only 1. I can't seem to concentrate when I watch anime. That's why I don't watch it anymore during doing stuff and I just watch some youtube video I can undrestand without looking at it.

Snacks, cola&blunts is truly the superior way of experiencing anime

there are exceptions ofc, like some really gory or with comedy containing poop/puking Id rather avoid eating so I usually ask some people if the next episode includes such things when im suspicious of the anime intentions

I really can't do that. I'd like to fully pay attention when I watch anime, especially those with great animation. Live action movies are often filled with unimportant details, as almost everything in a movie happens organically. But with anime every detail is usually the result of someone deliberately putting it there.

I wouldn't want to miss those small details so I never eat or do anything else while watching anime.

Is it suppose to deter my appetite watching all the food be made or do you just mean like I can't keep up with the all content on screen when the "Food Wars" get going?

Yeah, I'll have whole meals while watching. I've even had Takeaway food at the same time as watching, it is a slight problem but meh, can always go back to any bit I feel I missed.
