That sounds... indeed pretty horrible O_O Why would anyone even invent something like that, let alone use it? xD

Maybe that was just me feeling sad for Surugua, she shed some tears after getting beaten so easily in her best discipline >.<

Yeah, had to use that at school, and sometimes I need to apply a change in magento here at work... god how I don't want to use it xD

If you can't tell from the second meme already, magento also loads extremely slowly. Without the cache it's not even usable :P
(nor is it when you clear it and have to visit a page for the first time since)

Oh well, no one can beat best girl kaiki :3

Oh there are already memes for that? Then it must be really really awful xD

I guess it's just a bad decision by the school again then to teach that stuff. Though Magento is probably one of the more popoular frameworks and thus gets picked rather often, at least even I heard of it already :3

Stop calling him best girl xD

Indeed it is :3

That's nothing new though since they also claimed flash to be the future of the internet :P
Yeah, magento and woocommerce are probably the biggest webshop frameworks out there :3
(though woocommerce really is just a plugin for wordpress)

Hmmm, tsukimonogatari was pretty good stuff iirc :3

Well yeah, but since Flash is more popular than Magento I guess most people know by now that Flash sucks xD
On the contrary I never heard of woocommerce before, probably because it's just a plugin. Wordpress of course is well known :3

Oh that bathing scene is Tsukimonogatari? I thought that would be Koyomimonogatari, since it would make more sense for the sisters to appear there. I'm still waiting for adult Shinobu though :>

Except my teachers then :P
The one I used to work with at my previous job is quite obscure. It's very easy to use, but god you're limited in terms of what you can and cannot do, which in turn makes it very difficult to make things outside of the capabilities of the framework. I had to do so much with javascript ^^

Yeah, it should be tsukimonogatari :3
I'll also watch kizu once the final part is out :3

What year did they teach you about Flash? O_O
Yeah that's the biggest problem in making a good and comfortable framework, you have to decide how specific you want it to be without it becoming useless for most projects ^^ That's why I mostly prefer non-specific and widely usable software :3

Cool, I'll see if I'm able to watch Tsuki today in one go xD

Hmmm, that was back in 2012 or something I think :3
The problem with that framework was that for safety reasons they wouldn't let you use any server side languages. Instead of that they let you use an outdated version of "twig". This was quite easy to use, but unfortunately there was a lot of stuff you couldn't access with it, and you had no way of adding more options to the backend.
Because of this I was forced to use complicated ajax requests to retrieve specific data from the products' .json pages instead since those did contain all the available data.

In the last template I built for example I had created a nice sale timer where you could create a category for the products on sale, and you could change a few template variables for it like the date (hour specific) of when the sale starts, how many products are visible per iteration and how long each iteration lasts (hour specific).
This however had to be made entirely in javascript since no such functionality existed in the framework. I even had to use an infinity load-esque script to retrieve multiple pages at once (otherwise you'd be very limited in terms of the number you could show). It was also very difficult to make since one ajax request result can't interact with the others and as a result doesn't know how many products were shown before etc etc.

At some point they lost the code I had written so had to rewrite it themselves since I no longer work there... they still haven't been able to recreate that functionality xD

Yep, I watched second season, owari, hana, tsuki and koyomi when they aired iirc :3

Huh? But aren't server side languages even more secure than client side languages? I don't quite get the reasoning behind that. That sounds a bit like the communication between JSF and JavaScript, you also either do it with JSON-objects or invisible fields xD
Yeah that's why it's asynchronous after all, the order in which some orders execute is sometimes pretty tricky with javascript in general ^^ But it seems like you at least got some good experiences out of it :3

How the hell did they lose the code, did they have no source code repository? O_O

Cool, I'll probably stop after Owarimonogatari since Koyomimonogatari has no BD release yet :3

Knowing those teachers they probably still are :P
Well, they're probably afraid of what some people could do with server side languages since this is not a framework you just download off the net. You buy it from the organization, and they also do the hosting and what not. They probably don't want everyone to be able to down the server with expensive operations and what not ^^

Yeah, and it doesn't get any easier when you get reminded of the fact that there's a limit to how many ajax requests you're allowed to make on page load before getting a too many requests error :P

Well, the framework in question doesn't work via ftp or github or anything like that. The source code is hosted on the server, and you have to use the in-browser editor (that crashes the whole browser if you load something like jquery in it) that it provides you to make any changes.
The functionality in this case was a more complicated version of what went into the template. Because of this it was unique to 1 shop at the time. But when they were asked for the same functionality by another client they noticed that the client for which I had made that timer had overwritten the previous template with another one, apparently not realizing that they'd lose the timer as well :3

That's a very narrow view at teaching people about stuff like that though, you can't learn lots of stuff without breaking something now and then :3

Fortunately I never used this many requests, what is the limit? :D

But I mean there's always a bunch of files you can save or backup somehow to not lose it. Everything should be a file anyway :3
In this case though it seems they were just being stupid and didn't know what they're doing ^^

This framework wasn't related to school. It's a framework to allow random people that know nothing about programming to start a webshop, and to let developers build their own templates etc.
They wouldn't want random people to start computing sha512 hashes in huge multi-layered loops on their servers xD

Don't remember exactly what it was, it was also different per browser. But it was less than 10 iirc :3

Yeah you could do that by copy/pasting the code from the browser, but they never bothered doing that because that wouldn't happen anyway right? xD
But then again, they didn't really have any decent programmers anyway :3

The framework I used at school was magento (oh the nightmares) :3

Yeah normally you wouldn't need that many requests. However, when you have to make ajax requests just to be able to retrieve data you should be able to retrieve normally all the time then you reach that limit very easily.
With that timer for example I had to limit the number of pages you could retrieve. Let's say you had 6 products per page in your shop and you had set the timer to display 5 products per iteration. In that case you could never show more than 2 iterations, because with a single ajax call you can only retrieve 1 page. But in order to be able to show the correct products I had to retrieve all products in the sale at once since I had no way of finding out how many products could be displayed on a single page etc etc. So if a category has 20 pages then that'd already be 20 requests. Hence I had to limit the max number to like 6 iirc :3

Yeah, and that was like the last issue on my mind while working there :3

No owari isn't. It's second season -> tsuki -> owari -> hana :3
Koyomimonogatari is the side story (which I haven't watched apparently) :3

Of course, not your problem if they fuck that stuff up ^^

Oh? On AniDB Owari is displayed as a spin-off to 2nd season and not between Tsuki and Hana :o But in that case at least Kanbaru would still have her arm and be relevant I hope :3

Oh? On AniDB Owari is displayed as a spin-off to 2nd season and not between Tsuki and Hana :o But in that case at least Kanbaru would still have her arm and be relevant I hope :3

An expert at telling you to never use it at best :P

What hidden fields? I'm not talking about forms here :3
Some pieces of information were only available in either the product page itself or its corresponding json page. If I wanted to use that info anywhere else I'd need to perform an ajax request to the json page :3

There's 3 different timelines (the anime order, the LN order and the chronological order), you can find them here :3

Well... that is also an expert advice, isn't it? :3 Not that I would ever have used it anyway hehe

But in the end you always have an HTML page where you can use hidden fields, no? And they should be accessible with JavaScript and whatever you're using... well except if it's really really shitty xD

That stuff is pretty confusing, so far I only paid attention to the anime release order and the chronological release order on AniDB. So does that mean AniDB's chronological order is wrong? :3

Lucky you :P

I guess, but that wouldn't be ideal either since first of all there is a limit to how much html an ajax request returns, and at the same the templates won't be accepted by the developers of the framework if they don't get 100% W3C validated (with the exception of a few errors they caused themselves). You can't just place hidden fields anywhere in the code so that'd cause issues unfortunately :3

Apparently :3
At least owarimonogatari isn't a sidestory for as far as I remember :3

If you're gonna call someone a butt-senpai then why not just use "oshiri-senpai" or something instead of using such an obscure word :P
