| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- My first impression about this manga was "just another yuri manga with a typical plot (ohmy, suddenly I've met a wonderful and perfect girl and I fell in love with her...) and prototyped characters (the blond and the brunette, the perfect-strict girl and the fashionable-carefree one...)", but Saburouta has done a good job with this chapter. I loved the plot and [the way Yuzu has realized her feelings for Mei <3] What do you think? |

Mei is a bit tsuntsun (and masochist?), so I think she doesn't know who to behave toward others (probably she has a traumatic past or something) and ends up doing thinks like that. It's like "stay away or I'll do something bad to you", that's her personality. I'm sure she'll change herself to show her true feelings for Yuzu :3 typical, but I like it. |

For me, it's "statement of intentions". Normally, mangakas wait until the end of the manga to show a kiss or an intimate moment between the main characters. This is a "You wanna see kisses and hot scenes, right? In my manga you won't have to wait, I'll give you what you want from the very start." It's a type of fanservice, I think. |

| ^ might just be a fanservice but sure doesn't feel like one though. I'd gladly buy the "that's just her personality" theory instead. Some kind of a defense mechanism that screams stay the hell away from me. |

| Mei just ripped Yuzu's shirt open and was about to rape her, wow, that's not cool. Why does she do this? Maybe she has developed hyper-sexuality as a result of being abused. Her starting to kiss Yuzu in the bath "Because you looked like you wanted to touch me" would be right in line with this. And she always seems to look sad and lonely like a poor broken bird. Not good stuff, that. The story is pretty okay, the characters are pretty okay, the art is stunning. I've given every chapter so far a 4 out of 5, hope I can really get into this in the future chapters so that they merit a 5 out of 5. |

Not good stuff, that. You are bang on the money, my friend. Mei's behavior is very consistent with someone who was abused herself, that being her relationship with Amamiya. Both scenes you mentioned are indicative of an very unhealthy view of relationships, and these signs are what more readers/viewers should be recognizing as such, rather than thinking "oh, just more smut." |
