However, how was he so easily tricked by the scythemaster? The photo of Reiji (him with the gun beside the dead man) and the cause of death of that Godoh subordinate don't even match. That other subordinate died from being sliced by a knife (by Elen). Naturally, Shiga would not know that Elen was the one who killed him. However, he should know that the other Godoh subordinate died from having his throat slit by a knife. Wouldn't it seem off to him that Reiji, who was holding a gun in the photo he received from scythemaster, use a knife to kill the other Godoh subordinate at close proximity? Reiji touched the knife, so it has his fingerprints on it. This is one of those points which is made clear in the visual novel, but not in the anime. Blame Bee Train and their incompetency. |

| Nice to see the series is finally picking up again. I can't say i'm a huge fan of the heavily implied lolicon though. Godoh's number 2 didn't seem to have the knife fingerprinted though and it really did seem like he just saw the photo and assumed Phantom was the killer. I guess that makes sense though as he never really trusted inferno at all and always seemed to be looking for a reason to convince his friend to back out of the deal. |
| That was a good episode. Claudia's thinking saved her once again. I wonder how long she can cover for herself. Scythe's trying to make her fall. I guess Reiji also has a new reason to do better. I still don't like Cal, but she's not bad. I'm hoping that if Elen has to kill Reiji she won't be a sniper. Hopefully up close so that he can see her face and he will know she's alive. Uh, I'm looking forward to the next episode. |
| Nice interesting twist, now Reiji is extremely emotionally attached to Cal, I see some tragedy comming here for no reason in particular, Probably he will have to chose between those two girls anyway; loved the ending so, obviusly Elen/Ein didn't shoot Reiji in the train station since he was unharmed when they both were talking on the roof. I wanna see the interaction between both of them to see how she'll react. I wonder if Reiji raped Cal :/ Sorry but I couldn't avoid the question. |
| I wonder where Isaac was shot, because there were no blood on him (censorship, yay!). I don't get people fascinated with this episode (or rather preview of next one). After first 5 minutes it was simply boring (again poor assassin wants to get his old life back because of a normal girl he met. wow, just wow). And one more thing: everybody knows that Elen is alive since elevator scene. |

Also (and here, the animation doesn't really help), according to the official solution books, these are the ages of the characters: Chapter 1 > Ein 14 > Zwei 15 Chapter 2 > Ein 15 > Zwei 16 > Cal 14 Chapter 3 Not yet ;) Oh, and about "the" question: (Spoiler for comparison of this scene to the game version:) Cal is mostly suffering from malnutrition, I'd say ^_^ |

| This was a so-so episode for me. I still can't stand Cal. Each episode that she's in, just ruins it for me. Maybe I'll warm up to her later on, but I'm kind of wavering on that. It especially annoyed me to hear her talk about Reiji and assassins like she did this episode. Her wanting to become an assasssin just to be by his side, in the same world, just annoyed me to no end. She talks about how Reiji would never kill innocents, but yet he killed that wife and kid before, even though he was different then, it just goes to show how little she knows him. I'm pretty excited for the next episode though. It's about time Reiji and Ein meet again. It feels like forever since they were last in a scene together. |

I'd label Phantom an ultra-bitter and dark drama, with strong action and romance elements. However, first and foremost, it's drama in a film noir background. |

| Another blah episode. What it comes down to is that I am disgusted by Cal, so every minute she's on screen, I just get bored and my mind starts wandering. Claudia shooting Issac was awesome, and I got my answer regarding Lizzie--she's just a dog and doesn't think about anything--so that's something. I just can't believe what's his name got tricked by Scythe so easily, but whatever. If everything gets exposed by the end of this chapter, I don't see how Cal will be able to forgive Reiji for lying to her. |

| Another great episode. I'm happy McGwire didn't die because if he did I would have been disappointed in him. And hahaha Cal with cat ears, and Cal got in bed with Reiji, then he looked at her naked in the bathroom........... Cal with Cat Ears Reiji and Cal sleeping together And, I am VERY excited for next weeks episode, it looks like its got action and Reiji finally meets Ein!! |

| Cal is not necessarily being involved with Reiji as some here imply. In fact, I hardly see that kind of emotion in those two esp Reiji. After Cal stayed with Judy, she became her sister, perhaps now Reiji is her brother. |

It seems more like a brother/sister sort of relationship at this time anyhow, and though I don't think it matters much, the unhesitant nudity seemed to more symbolic of Reiji and Cal's new openness with one another and in contrast to the nudity involving Ein/Elen (which seemed more symbolic of a forced intimate connection). Anyhow, I am curious as to how well Cal really understands Reiji. She did mention that he wasn't killing innocents, and yet the assassinations from episode 5 come to mind as a direct contradiction. But maybe I'm looking too far into it. |

Um, sorry to say this, but if you guys hope to know the canon story, which is the game, then no brother-sister crap between Reiji & Cal, it's PURE & SIMPLE ROMANTIC L-O-V-E. Somehow, its was toned down & left ambiguous in the shower scene where it should be a hug at the very least & S-E-X at the best in this ep, which contribute to my disappointment for the otherwise significant ep IMO |

| I really enjoyed this episode, especially the emotional dialogue between Reiji and Cal as he tries to tell how he doesn't want her to go any deeper into his world by explaining how much it had destroyed him, and how he wished he could go back to those happy days he once had. Then Cal telling him that she was to be of use to Reiji, how she can't live without being by his side, and that she is willing to go into Reiji's world just to be by him. (Did something really happen between those two?) |

Elen's apathetic attitude, even after everything Reiji has done is really annoying me. -_- As for the question if something happened between them, since it happened in game I just treat it as offscreen in this case. And I don't really see the problem with that anyway, it's not like their age gap is huge...it's just the character design. |

| This is so wrong!! Conspiracy Next episode And so, it seems as though the multiple endings of the game got mixed into a single one or perhaps, this is actually one of those Ein's ending. I don't really know as that I have only obtained 6 passwords in the dvd game. There should be over 20 or more. |
