| Um *scratches head* it might just be me, but I really don't think Azu-nyan is the same character trope as Mio. If you were overwhelmed with going to a new school, and then joining a club where three of the four members pounced on you immediately, wouldn't you be a little shy too? I think she's going to take the role of the 'neutral' character in time, by the end of next episode if not earlier. Yea, she's cute, but she's also new so they had to dote on her a little. Hopefully it'll have leveled out some. I find it amusing that according to the opening, she's the second guitar while she's a better player than Yui. Also, Yui was doing a lot more with the fingering, Azu-nyan wasn't doing all that much from what I saw. Maybe Yui'll have learned some of the tricks to play as well sooner or later. (take the last para with a grain of salt, the only musical instruments I've ever been interested in playing are the vocal chords and simple percussions, so I might just be watching for the wrong things.) |

She was an okay character in the early episodes but now has turned into little more than fetish fuel that, if she were a man, would make her a ephebophile. But since she's a woman, it makes it "cute". Yeah...whatever. In short, I think the series has jumped the shark, and it will take Kyoto Animation a LOT of effort to return the series to its enjoyable glory in its first few episodes. If it indeed bombs, I don't really think you could credit that to KyoAni, but more to the manga's creator, as pretty much everything you see, have seen or will see (Mio cowering over every little 'scary' thing, Sawako's erratic behavior, Azusa being the target of the girls' affection, etc.) is taken straight from the manga. |

| I doubt even 50% of the watchers know the source material; it's pretty much been like that forever. Why would K-On! be different, especially for the low amount of hits the manga had until the anime started, meaning most watchers started watching it to give it a try (some being interested with the music department, others because it's by KyoAni), or because of the ridiculously high amount of publicity it had right when the first episode finished; not because of the manga. That's the case with me, and everyone that I know that's watching the series (or dropped it after 6 episodes in 1 case). |

This includes leaving out or changing parts of the original work that aren't up to par. They'd have to leave out quite a lot then, as this is basically what the manga has been showing as well. Maybe, but deviating too much is also bad in many cases as then it will start to effect the storyline, especially when a story is as straight-forward as this one. In this case, the parts you referred to are kinda essential for the story. Maybe they don't seem to add much at first, but you only see part of the story so far. Wait till the whole series has been shown, then come back and tell me whether or not you still think the show has "jumped the shark". Judging prematurely might make you want to rethink your initial criticism in the long run. |

| ...First Mio, now Azusa? Do we really need another one? fsdlgmfldgmfdgk Azusa's annoying as Hell, but I'm not gonna drop this 9 episodes in. It's occasionally entertaining. And the few parts that have music are awesome. |

| Nekomimi is good, but Azusa is too focused on performing - I hope I'll like her more as the series goes on ^.^ Also... Mio is a bit lonely now, isn't she? :( |

| Oh my gawd, best episode as of yet. Loved everything that they did in this episode. I was laughing the whole time. Azusa is such a good and cute character. Plus, that was really touching in the end when Azusa came back to the club. Mio was right. Even though they slack off most of the times, they're having fun, and that's what's making their musics good when they play together. AAAAAAHHH AZUSA! NYAAAA~ |

| If I were someone of the bunch I would just say... Moe moe Kyuun~! But since I'm not that kind of person lemme say... KYAAAA!? XD Nah.... Just Nya! XD Wow... Never expected this one... I mean the chapter was, plotwise, excellent since the new member had a hard time deciding to whether really joining or leaving the band since she saw they slack off a bit too much XD Can't blame her since it's the K-ON! Club not the Eat the Sweets Club XD... but honestly I miss the big display of sweets! I miss the great looking cakes... and the sweets... But we still see nice teacups and dishes XD And never saw it before but they even have a sink and a mirror there! Maybe a bathroom XD But hey she has to understand that that's actually why the club is great... or well the band In the end it's all about the Chemistry the girls have... and how you can easily promote a Good Chemistry? Well one way is having great times like they do! Supporting each other everyday and every time they need and that's what Mio actually meant... I hope Azu-nyan understands it and enjoys it as well :P So the list remains the same... tho there were nice moments, like obviously the nekmimi moments for every girl less Yui... She looked plain... thou Ritsu looked funny... but definitely Azusa is pure win! XD The Cake-on/off part was awesome as well! And the costumes XD... but I still dislike Sawako a lot XD... and Azusa's and Mio's dramas... I do understand them... in the end they're not used to that... But they'll be okay! Signs, Green |
