The January issue (on sale November 24) of Hakusensha's LaLa shōjo magazine has announced that Matsuri Hino's Vampire Knight manga will be animated for television in Japan. The horror manga takes place in Cross Academy, where the student body is divided into the "regular" Day Class and the "elite" Night Class. Yuki Cross, the adopted daughter of the headmaster, is one of the few people in the entire school who knows that the Night Class students are vampires. Yuki herself was attacked by a vampire — and saved by another — as a child. As such, she joins the Guardians, a student group that struggles to maintain the delicate balance between the two classes. Zero, Yuki's childhood friend and one of the Day Class Guardians, happens to be a latent vampire who keeps sane by drinking blood voluntarily offered by Yuki. Meanwhile, the student president of the Night Class is Kaname — the same vampire who saved Yuki as a child. Viz Media started publishing the original manga in English in January. | Yay I'm really happy about this. I've read the first 3 volumes of the manga and have been hoping it would become an anime. Really happy that it now has. ^^ Hopefully it airs in the spring. Now all we need is Shinshi Doumei Cross to become an anime. More shoujo anime is always a plus. :) |

| I remember a friend telling me about this a few days ago. I'm really excited and glad about this, Vampire Knight's one of my favorite manga's. On the cast, I think it says [in order]: Kurosu Yuuki: Horie Yui Kiriyuu Zero: Miyano Mamoru Kuran Kaname: Kishio Daisuke Ichijo Takuma: Chiba Susumu Aidou Hanabusa: Fukuyama Jun Kain Akatsuki: Suwabe Junichi Shiki Senri: Hoshi Souichiro which matches the drama CD. I'm really happy bout that because I liked the Drama CD cast! Now, I'm not so good with Japanese so not so sure if that's right. T_T What I wanna know is if the supporting cast is actually official. =X Anyone know? |

| Here's a question...how did 30 people rate this anime when it hasn't even aired yet? The anime may be vastly different from the manga, and it wouldn't be the first time the anime has sucked in comparison to a very good manga. Anyway, I love the manga and am excited about the anime. One thing I'm glad for is the animation from Studio DEEN, they've kept it pretty faithful to the manga art, unlike Special A where the animation looks pretty bad and Kei's hair color is completely wrong, he's meant to be blonde and now he's got brown hair? |
