| The really worrying thing is a lot of the staff who helped created Panty & Stocking, which is wacky but yet became a cult favorite to some fans because of its irreverent humor and crazy action, have since left Gainax in the following years. So Gainax is acutely short of experienced hands. One place where Gainax gets a lot of mentions is an unexpected place: In forum where fans celebrate the announcement of KanColle being animated, trolls poured cold water by saying "Just wait until you hear Gainax gets to do the project!". Of course nobody knows which studio will take the project but it just goes to show how low fans' confidence level with the studio has fallen. |

I actually didnt even know about KamiNomi's sales till after the third season started. When I did find out, I was really surprised, considering how it got 3 seasons and a few OVAs. And as mentioned by Neo, even if you know that it's doing well in other areas or just breaking even from the anime sales, it still kinda sucks seeing something you like not even doing nearly as well as you hoped. |

| C3-bu was so disappointing. I enjoyed the first 3 eps or so. After that it just went downhill. The show could have been much better than Upotte which I enjoyed. Rento and Karila were really the only thing that kept me watching. |

| C3-bu is basically GuP done wrong. Every single aspect is heavily flawed, maybe with sole exception of Ren-chan. On the other hand, Manglobe's TWGOK is actually good, despite the fact they now had to stuff more chapters than in first two seasons. I'm honestly impressed with what they did here (too bad I can't say it about their other shows) and fans in Japan seem to agree seeing how it has above 2k prediction. |

| Just watching Kitakubu's episode 4 and the wall breaking it does about having to retool itself into a fight anime and how most people decide whether or not to keep watching it (implied: buy it) at episode 3 is quite true and funny at the same time. They really are self aware. The presales figures by episode 3 are pretty telling, after that there is some movement for sure, good examples where later episodes can build momentum but in the case of that show, it was never very good and later episodes couldn't save it. Kind of funny, ironic and sad at the same time... adding fanservice, sports, battles... until Karin points out that they are in episode 4 so it's too late, very funny. Too bad it wasn't funny enough! |

The comedy really improves as the series progressed. A shame it sold so badly, I would have loved to see more of it. Sorry, when I said "it was never very good and later episodes couldn't save it" I meant the presales numbers, not the show itself! It was quite funny though some of the segments were better than others. Episode four I just found quite ironic given the sales numbers; seems they should have changed more than the ED... I tried to imply that I was rather let down by the fact that even though the show improved by a lot(the comedy, in this case) the sales diden't. But I suppose it was already to late for that. But this conversion is getting a bit confusing now, so nevermind. This season seems to have more real bombs than usual. Whether the Madoka, Raildex, SnK, Free!, and UtaPri2 buyers are just out of money or if the shows are just bad or if there has been some sort of shift I don't know but this season sucks overall is not in debate. |

What I think we disagree is how early it is decided (you seem to think it is earlier than the first 2-3 episodes), which is relatively minor differences. And back to Kitakubu, for me the talk about sales in ep.4 actually was a kind of a low point to me for the series as I started to get fed up with the rookie seiyuu voicing the roles and I found the humor ok but not too funny. So I was quite surprised myself that I actually found myself enjoying the series gradually more as the series progressed. The seiyuu seemed to be improving (if only for a little), the humor more funny (and I was pleasantly surprised that some of the humor played out much better for cultured people who know about Japanese literature or classical music). That said, I am not sure it is enough to jerk the series' sales that much, sad as it may sound. |

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

"Gainax" used to mean something, not so much anymore. |
