They must have never been imported by my country because I have no idea of what they are.

Implying you know all the products that your country imports.

But the news is about an American company that had operated for 80+ years. So if you aren't from or in America then you have no real reason to know about Hostess and it's products.

From a more tech savvy perspective, how hard is it to punch twinkie into a search engine or clink on the links provided in the op in order to familiarize yourself with the subject matter. You're a programming student? lol

NOOOOO, NOT MAH TWINKIES!

But seriously, while I did like them, there are plenty of other snacks that I can eat.

Ding Dongs are great, but I was never a big fan of Twinkies. I like anything with frosting or cream (no jokes plz) but Twinkies were always just, I dunno. I can't explain it, greasy? They're just not that good. Still it sucks to see an American icon like Hostess die and the assets no doubt get sold to various PE firms. I just hope the Hostess execs don't get golden parachutes and what not.

I find it more fascinating to ask on MAL and receive clever responses.
Thank you for indeed doing that (No sarcasm intended). Your last paragraph made me chuckle a bit.

Relax, Hostess said they were selling off all their assets in Bankruptcy Court, so their products aren't going anywhere, they'll just be made by a different company, and probably a different name.

They were court ordered to go into discussion. This company has been in this situation before. They will probably be fine.

I was kinda happy when I heard about it. I never liked anything Hostess made, especially Twinkies, and it's just one less company that wants me to pay them so I can get fat.

Too bad it's all just some ruse to remind people how much they love Twinkies so they go and buy 50 boxes in preparation. Hostess isn't going anywhere, so chill the fuck out.

Ebay has Twinkies up for prices ranging from $10-60 a box to $300 for several boxes and 2 companies have shown interest in buying Hostess.
I see your $60 and raise you $21,000,000,00.

The highest one that actually had a bit placed was 88,000$ for a truck full with 1,100 boxes of Twinkies.
I probably regret this post by now.

Why not take a little time out of your day and look at Hostess' product line. It consists of than just fatty, nutrient deficient snack foods. Although producing fat filled foods isn't really much of a reason to be happy for yet another business to file bankruptcy.

You might want to leave your basement and visit some of your local stores. The hostess sections are verging on empty this week. Any merchandiser/delivery person can tell you that not making your entire product line so that it can be stocked in stores is not a stunt to get the public to buy more.

I like how people think they aren't ever gonna see Twinkies again, Most likely craft foods or some one will buy up their recipes and start producing their products, it would be dumb not to.
It doesn't think, it doesn't feel, it doesn't laugh or cry..... All it does from dusk till dawn is make the soldiers die.

It really doesn't matter, there's a billion knockoffs that taste exactly the same - and some even better, that have been around for years.

^and it ended up bosses, at least 19 of them, will be getting a heckload of cash as a goodbye payment. Why are they getting mad if they chose 'no deal'.

Probably because they were smart enough to negotiate dismissal terms for their own employment contracts before taking up their positions.

The employees made the decision to strike, despite the risk to the company and caused a loss that the company could not recover from. They will now suffer the consequences of their actions.

I liked them too. It's my favorite snack food. Well, I would say that no more goodbye. When people heard that Twinkies were not going to be worth it, they make a way just to purchase as much snack food as you possibly can for the future. The good news now is that Hostess announced it has sold the recipes to another company for the future. Now, you will only need quick cash for a snack whenever you are having a craving and not to stock up on it.
