First starter topic...lol
Well, what do we have here? The world today!... hum not exactly, some demonic holdovers can be found here too...Enma (a fire-demon prince) and his partner Yukihime (if my japanese isn't too bad it should mean snowprincess..am i right?) are hunting after other demons in the human world...both of them don't seem to know much about the modern world...therefore another character comes in...the kappa Kapaeru which also works as a mascot for the detective agency lol.
...
hmm what more to say? The story is dusky but also has some little fun moments... =) In the Original the story was based for children...well this Anime isn't for children anymore..some explicit scenes and stuff lol
I enjoyed it. Reminded me of animes from the 90s and 80s (though it came out in 06 i believe)
The animation was solid for the most part, the main cast is likable and it had some genuinely freaky moments. The little twist at the end I didn't see coming either.
No idea about the original so I'm not sure if they captured the characters' of the cast from the 70s show but it's definitely an interesting remake.
This episode is a racist story about how tragic it is not to be completely Japanese, and I mean like actual racism, not silly deliberate over-stereotyping like you see a lot. If it wasn't so blunt and crass I'd be more disgusted rather than amused.
Well, I guess "blunt and crass" is a Go Nagai thing.
Also, this did not need to be 40 minutes long. This whole OVA has a bad problem with flabby running times.
this ALMOST completely throws out everything Nagai Gou
What a VERY interfucking watch. There was NO trace of the 2011 Dororon Enma-kun. Though in the long run, it's got nothing going for it. Comedy is almost non-existent, which is what the original is about, but at least it isn't as fucking REPETITIVE.

I'm pretty sure it was depicted as the girl's tragedy, if anything the message is against prejudice, isn't it?
Also it seems like Lola's friend was killed by the demon's..."thing". Gross. Though it kinda makes sense given that he was born from her father's conflicting feelings of obsessive love.
I felt like this was sometimes too dark.
And I don't mean the story, I just mean the contrast where you barely see anything.
Still, not too bad so far, I'm curious as to what they are going to do with the story with 3 more episodes.
I guess the father being the host was a decent twist.(though I'm not sure how it explains the bath scene if the girl was fine).
