| @bennitori You like quite a few of the high tier shows, but I find it interesting how you have the occasional show that stray from the norm. You don't hate shows for being popular, and you don't avoid shows just because they're different. Just looking through your list briefly, it seems that you don't watch much in terms of mecha, nor do I see much works of the seinen, shoujo, or josei demographic. Despite that, I do see various romance shows in the upper ends of your list, as well as Gurren Lagann, which means you don't necessarily avoid anything, but perhaps you haven't delved as deeply into those areas? I also see certain shows like Bokurano, Utena, and Monster up there, meaning you also have touched on some of the more serious stuff and liked what you saw. You certainly have a large breadth of tastes, but I don't think you have a specific type of genre or anything you lean towards. Maybe just a bit towards mystery/suspense/horror/psychological, but I'm just speculating on that. However, it seems as if you have a preference for shows that invoke a strong emotional feeling, whether if it's through heartwarming romance, hotblooded badass action, soul-crippling drama, or nail-biting suspense. It doesn't matter what you're watching, but if it can start with a bang and end with a bang, you'll love it. You dislike shows that try to play you for a fool, whether by giving you false hope for a good show or starting off strong and going to hell towards the end. You're really critical of shows that have one or two good elements, while the rest of the show is crap. You seem to get really invested in shows you watch, so if anything breaks that sense of engagement, the anime will lose a lot of points in your mind. I'd say a great way to describe your tastes is the comparison of Black★Rock Shooter's OVA to the TV series. The OVA was nearly wordless, atmospheric, strong in presentation, and flowed from beginning to end without ever shifting gears in pacing. The TV series got trapped in characterization that didn't really do much, switched erratically between the real world and the other world, had an imbalance of style and substance, and had a weak sense of pacing. You seemed to be really aware of those changing, or at least you sensed those changes, so I believe that's what's important to you. |

| @skyzblue Yay Utena. Immediately, you love smart shows, and it's not just the psychological/mystery/suspense stuff. You love holistically designed shows with overarching themes and a unified aesthetic. Basically, your favorite stuff are stuff that are cleanly put together. No cut corners, no wasteful effort, no unnecessary fluff, and no extra weight. Action, romance, drama, psychological, cyberpunk, contemporary, futuristic, you've touched on everything at least once, but it seems like you've found a lot of really great stuff without having watched much of the mid-tier or lower end shows. You also seem to have a preference to thoughtful shows that make you think, whether if it's something philosophical, or simply to get you to appreciate the world. That's evident with stuff like Evangelion, Utena, and Mushishi with the former, and Haibane Renmei, Millennium Actress, and Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou with the latter. Also, it seems like most of the shows you've watched are rather recent, meaning within the past decade. Perhaps you've watched your fair share of anime when you were younger, but you've only really gotten into anime within these 10 years and you're currently in the transitional phase of exploring anime more in depth? You seem to dislike ecchi, comedies that don't have substance to them, and "boring" stuff. I find it almost intriguing how you're so spiteful of shows that have a lack of "plot" to them. It seems as if for you, if the characters, atmosphere, and all that jazz are the meat of a show, the plot are the bones that hold everything together. Because of that, if the plot fails, everything will fall apart for you. If the characters are obtuse or if the pacing was too slow for your tastes, as long as the plot works out and there's a satisfying conclusion, you'll be happy. As a note, it seems as if the greatest sin an anime can commit for you is if the show ruins its established franchise. This applies to movies, remakes, and OVA specials. I would almost recommend to never watch any extras to a series if you hate that kind of stuff. Magical Girl Revy would probably make you cough up your liver. |

| Very nice design. Honestly I don't agree with some ratings mainly - Darker than black. (edit: Higurashi too!) Also you seem to like some feely stuff. |
