I swear this thread gets made like every few months when it get buried by time.

Only played FF4, 9, 10, and tactic games.

Didn't finish either 4, 9, or 10. For 10 I stopped right before the final boss battle, rofl. I think I got spoiled about Tidus and never got into it afterwards. Plus my emulator keep effing up on me during the last fight. :(.

So the only biased selection is the tactic series. Probably the first game that got me addicted to other games like disgaea, tactics ogre, fire emblem, and advance wars.

Im gonna keep it real. Ive played every final games created, including the ones on the ds, and they were amazing. I just finished FF7 and thers no contest. Yes the game is dated but it's probably one of the best games ive played in a very long time. I finished FF13 and FF13-2 and they were amazing but F 7 just takes the cake.

VI is the best and anybody with taste will agree with this statement.

FFX is the one I grew up with though and enjoyed the most, but looking back and taking off the nostalgia goggles it wasn't fantastic. Super cliche with some annoying characters and maximum angst.

That's a funny juxtaposition.

(But to be hypocritical, I actually agree with both statements.)

I'm a little surprised on the positive response to FFVIII, seems everywhere else it's one of the least liked. Actually, FFVIII is my favorite one too. Sank far more time into VIII than any other, plus, although some characters were annoying, they got some good development as the game goes on.

Currently slowly playing through FFX and I think it could be one of my favorites after I finish it. Otherwise, VI and V probably my next favorites in line.

Favorites were probably 6 and 7. Tactics was awesome. I loved FF10 as well, and it's probably easier to get into now than something older like 6. Didn't play X-2 because it looks silly.

Didn't finish 8, 9, or 4. I tried to on different occasions but they just weren't for me or something, but I know many people who consider them their favorites. Maybe because I picked up on them really late. 12 was alright, although not as memorable IMO.

13 is easily the most boring shit I've ever played.

My favourite one is FFVIII, because that was my first FF game, although I only completed it last year. My second is FFX and FFX-2, I think X-2 is fun, even if it is critisized so much. My 3rd is FFIX, I just love it.
I played FFVII too, but it's not in my TOP 3.
FFXII was the biggest disappointment for me. I just love the fight system of the other FFs... Now I'm playing FFXII and it's so-so, but still better than XII.

Although I've enjoyed all of them (well, XII not so much...) I think VIII has always been a favorite. Even though other people seem to criticize it harshly (maybe because it was the first FF game to follow VII, who knows) it never made me like it less.

Crisis Core is also pretty high up on my list ^^

FF Dissidia 012. I like the combat system as I don't like turn-based fighting alot but I have been trying out FF11, just cause.
But I am waiting for the FFX HD re-release that is supposed to be coming out..sometime in the future.

However the series has been really crap since FFX. There really hasnt been anything of note since then from it.

The Pray version is probably my least favorite version of Terra's Theme. Which is a shame, because I love some of the arrangements on Pray and Love Will Grow -- especially everything she sings in Portuguese.

But if you want to talk FFVI rearrangements, this is what I consider the best:

Dude I been there and played through all, I have to say 13-2 was very solid for a sequel. I guess I just liked Serah and Noel as the only 2 characters, seem to make me keep playing, very good game.

But defiantly my vote goes to 9, anyone who has not played this one have too, sadly the game was released at the wrong time.

Defiantly the best story of all ff titles, also the characters are all very well developed, and Quina is funny.

Yeah...the only memorable thing about Quina for me is Yoshitaka Amano's concept art of he/she/it, but that's only because I'm a devoted fan of Amano's.

Story Line wise, the most memorable part was in Treno where he/she jumped into the water and that old man said something, can't remember what but it made me laugh, a lot!

Wow, that's a bloody hard one.
I love 4,6,7-10 as much as each other. Shame I've not actually completed 4 and 6. Maybe one day when I have enough time in my life.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced rocks! The plot is very simple, it's all about the gameplay tbh. Very addictive.

I think it's time I go through all the old school FF!

Very underrated game. It doesn't hold a candle to the first Tactics, but many people make the mistake of thinking that it has to hold a candle to the first Tactics -- it stands well on its own.

Hands down. The best FF's are FF7, FF8, FF10, and FF13.
FF10-2, in my opinion wasnt that good. Yuna had a major personality change. It also got kinda boring to me. i finished FF13-2 a couple months ago. And i have to say, it was good. But it wasnt better than FF13. Sequals are never good. Crisis core was really good too. Explained alot of things FF7 didnt. Right now, im waiting for Final fantasy 13 versus. after thats done. Kingdom hearts 3 will be started.

Final Fantasy 7 - Great Story, Great characters, Great gameplay, Great game.

Final Fantasy 8 - I could never really get into this one, don't know why, my brother loved it though.

Final Fantasy 9 - My favorite of the ps1 ones, really recommend this, battles are a little slow though.

Final Fantasy 10 - When i first played this i was hooked, replaying now actually.

Final Fantasy 12 - i didn't play 11 so i'll skip to 12, they changed the gameplay in this, which i don't like but it's still a great game.

Final Fantasy 13 - I actually got this game not so long ago so i can't really say if it's good or not but it has the same battle system as Final Fantasy 12.

But the best of all is of course Final Fantasy 6, play it and you'll see ;)

Well, I haven't played any FF games on PS2/3 or on the PC. However I have played some games of this series on my PSP and Nintendo DS. First of all, on PSP you can find: Final Fantasy 1 (which I'm currently playing), 2 and 4 which are remakes of the PS1 games of the same title. Also on PSP, you can find Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions and Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core ( my personal favourite =D) which follows the events that occured before the events of FF 7. Finally, the only FF games that I know about on Nintendo DS are FF: The 4 Heroes of Light and FF Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates.None of them follows the actual story of Final Fantasy. I hope I could be of help...Enjoy ^_^

My vote, so far, 1st goes to FF8, 2nd would be FF6, and 3rd would be FF13, despite everybody's criticism against it. I don't understand why everybody doesn't like FF13. I love the stylized battle system. It's actually very engaging and exciting. 4th would be FF10. Contrary to popular opinion, I put FF7 fairly low on my list. Without its supplementary spin-offs, it's actually not that great.
