How many people here love the Spyro games, or some of them?

1 was the shit. I still play it every once in a while. 2 and 3 were ok. The rest are worthless.

The PS1 days were the prime of Spyro. I liked the 3rd on most with Spyro's extended abilities.

To be honest, I like all of the PS1 and 2 games for Spyro except Enter the Dragonfly, I mean I'll play that one if I'm really bored, but, I really do prefer the others. I do like the 3 PS1 games the best though, and I'm really looking forward to the upcoming release of the Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon.

I loved the PS1 games. Really fun. Never played the newer games.
For those wondering why the games dropped in quality:
The PS1 games were made by Insomniac, the Ratchet and Clank team. After the PS1 titles the series along with Crash Bandicoot got sold off and no longer with the dev team that made them famous and not published by Sony anymore.

That sucks though, considering if they sell well why get rid of them? If you no longer want to work on the series just give it a break and make one once in a while. Heck, you can go into hibernation like Metroid did...

I love Spyro!! I have all 3 PSone games and I have a Heros Tail for Xbox but I haven't played it much cause my xbox keeps deleting my saved files of it whenever I get half way through the game. -_-

I'm pretty much with the majority here, I loved the PSX games (Ripto's RAge was my favorite). After Year of the Dragon things really started to go down hill, now I won't even touch a Spyro game... :/

I only remember playing the first game, and I really enjoyed it. Most of my PS1 platforming days were focused on Crash Bandicoot and the Pandemonium games (if anyone actually knows the latter, I'll be surprised).

I love Spyro the Dragon :)

I have played, but don't own, the first game for the PSOne. I'm hunting for it and will buy it just for the sake of having it.
I own Spyro 2 and 3 for the PSOne, and Legend of Spyro A New Beginning for the PS2.
I also have 3 of the games for the Gameboy Advance.
I keep meaning to get the other PS2 games.. but I actually prefer the PSOne games (especially Spyro 3).

Love Spyro!

The first one was my first Playstation game and is still my favorite. I've played through it a number of times and I've never gotten tired of it. The second is also very good. Played it again not too long ago. I did so much better then when I first tried playing it.

I also have Season of Ice on the Gameboy Advance, which was still pretty good.

The first Spyro game was the first PS1 I ever played. Before that, the only video games I'd ever played were Bubsy in: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind and PacMan both for Sega Genesis.

Number one was great, and number two was one of the best of its genre I ever played. I still remember my excitement upon suddenly discovering some of the secret locations in one of the worlds.
Number three was decent, though not as good as number two IMO. As for the rest, I haven't played them and have no intent to.

I gotta say, I love Spyro 2. Am I alone in this? Anyways, I love 1 also, and 3 was okay.

But the newer ones... ugh. I seriously tried to give them a chance since I love the series, but no go.

I used to love the Spyro games. The second spyro game was my favourite, but I can't remember why now XD (I think it was because there might have been something extra that was missing in the first one).

My brother rented one of the new spyro games not so long ago and I found it terrible, they've ruined spyro. :(

Like most people seem to be saying, I liked the Insomniac games and none of the others. Just like how I only like the three Naughty Dog Crash Bandicoot games.

Too bad both of those characters got the shaft.

I wish Insomniac had continued making the Spyro games. Though I really like all of the new ones so far, except Enter the Dragonfly, I can't help but think how much better all of the new games would be if Insomniac had made them. Who knows, I might have actually liked Enter the Dragonfly.

Spyro 1,2,3 are some of the most prominent games I can think of during my childhood gaming days. I consider them legendary games, I even play them once per year and 100% complete them because they're way too fun. As soon as the PS1 era was over though, the series went totally downhill.

I loved the first 3 for the PS1 but i think the spyro games got worse although i did still play them. I played some for the PS2 and my interst in spyro kinda died. I still do play the first 3 for fun though they were classics. I was always more of a spyro guy compared to crash bandicoot.

Would love to hear why you think so, I can't really think of any reason why it got better. I personally loved the first three, even thinking about playing them right now sounds fun, and I must've finished them at least a few times, albeit probably not 100%.

I barely remember playing A Hero's Tail and Enter the Dragonfly though, all they did was disapoint me, so I completely gave up on Spyro, along with Crash Bandicoot. Since I only have a PS1 when I was young, it's like they destroyed two of my favourite series <_<

However, the latest Spyro, Dawn of the Dragon wasn't so bad. It was actually a bit fun to play from start to end, a bit more serious too which was sort of cool. Personally I think you can't compare it with the first three though. The first three had many well designed and thought out levels. Dawn of the Dragon is one long quest spanning literally no more than 9 or 10 areas.

Both new and old spyro games are good in their own way.But In my opinion, since I'm getting dotd for my b-day,I have to say that the new games are better.
New spyro annoncements:
Getting spyro dotd(yes I can play 2 player)
Completed spyro a hero's tail
Completed spyro a new beginning
Completed spyro shadow ledacy

If you seriously liked Enter the Dragonfly, the you really need to play one of the PS1 games if you can. IMO Enter the Dragonfly is the worst game in the entire franchise.

I used to absolutely love Spyro back in the day.

I haven't played it in years, unless I can count earlier this year when me and two friends were going through my friends old games and playing a little of each.

I don't like the look of the most recent games.

The third Spyro game was my shit when I was younger. I never beat it though, but I never finished any of the games I played back then. I remember fighting the last boss on the Banjo game and just rage quiting because I didn't understand shit, and that's basicly the closest I got to complete a game back then.
