| So yeah that was quite something. It was paced rather well and as an alternate take on the Rayearth tale it was interesting and surprisingly good. It was fun to see them carry over alot of the same ideas and character arcs despite telling a completely different story. I think Eagle got alittle too preachy and philosophical at the end for my liking though which made it harder to follow for me personally. I would definitely recommend this to lovers of Magic Knight Rayearth now, I think the TV series is better still but it's nowhere near as ambitious as this OVA is. There is an incredible movie in there somewhere with some tweaks but as a 3 episode OVA it's pretty neat. |

| Pretty cool ending! They combined the three Mashin in the end :D I feel like there's a lot of hate for this OVA, but imo it was really good! It was a different take of the universe using the same characters, and I feel like it was surprisingly different enough to feel like its own thing. I liked the action and the story, and I would definitely recommend watching the TV series before this. Maybe a lot of people feel lost bc they haven't seen the original series, or maybe people feel lost bc its so different from the original series idk. But this gets a 9-10/10 from me, I loved it!! |

| So, it really didn't do what I thought it was going to do, lol. I expected it to maintain the integrity of the series, just told in a different way. But it ended up being a different approach altogether. I really do wish we had gone back to Cephiro and had seen them in their armor and fighting monsters again. I think I had a hard time getting into this because they were trying to do too much in two hours. And, by adding two additional characters; Lantis and Eagle, who ended up being the crutches of the this OVA's plot, things got a little messy as we progressed. I don't feel like those two got enough screen time and so they just came off as random. If they were going to be such integral parts of the story, then I think Ferio, Alcyone, and Ascot basically didn't need to be in this. We needed to focus more on the backstory of Emeraude, Eagle, and Lantis. Since I barely knew these characters I pretty much didn't even care about their fates. It was an interesting idea, but I think it was executed poorly. With that, I'm on to season two. |

| Decent conclusion, and pretty surprising the city was actually destroyed. I thought they were going to fix everything somehow. This was unexpectedly pretty good overall. I liked the darker tone and the action was nice, though the designs like Lexus felt too tokusatsu. Plot/story could've been better, without the knowledge of the tv series and characters I felt it would've been hard to follow and stay interested. 8 spicy Alcyones /10 |
