My first thought was: "A time where I have clean water out of a tap and toilets!!", but then I saw you're not allowed to keep your newest 07/2008-memory. oO (which is actually good in that case)
I'd like to experience the "Golden Twenties" as a rather NOT POOR woman, everything else sucks. But then, in like....1928 or so I'd like to beam myself back into the present (2008) again 'cause of absolutely everything going totally in the wrong direction ._.
As also mentioned before, Egyptians, Romans, Greek, time around Jesus, 18hundreds, 50's-80's would be great, too...ok, this is too tough for me, I love history!! x) but I am actually glad I was born at this time and at this place; til now, it was a pretty good way of life.
All in all, what's always very important when talking of the time you would want to go is the place.......

Knights were really in the 1000s I believe. With the advent of the longsword, and stronger plate and all that.

The idea of knights has existed long before the middle ages. They weren't referred to as "knighthoods" but they still had the same idea of knights, just in different names, had existed. Knights as simply warriors selected by the ruler. Plate mail and long swords have nothing to do with it.

If you want to get technical, Alexander the Greats Companion cavalry were in all cases and purposes "knights."

Back to the question, I'd pick 1050 in Normandy. That way I would be 16 when we invade... again. I'd end up being back to where I was already. Huzzah for full circle.

287 BC in Syracuse Sicily, just so I could potentially know Archimedes. Maybe steal his Palimpsest and smuggle it to a safe place so the stupid priests and other dumb asses wouldn't bleach it out and write all over it. Then people could see right away that he had theories of Physics far beyond Newton already figured out, and up to Calculus two done. xD

Even though, I would LOVE to go forward about 500-1000 years into the future(Assuming the world hasn't gone to all hell) I would probably have a hard time deciding between:

The Middle Ages - Because I'm a Knight/Sword Fantasy Nerd

Right before the computer boom - Because I'm a technology Nerd and I'm not too sure how far we will advance in my lifetime, so I would want to see where it all started.

i don't want to live without anime and game... that would just suck but then again if i were to be born in 2000 BC (i think it was about that time but i'm not sure) when my country was the biggest power in world (yeah even better than greece and egypt was under our control entirely) and when we had great emprors to respect peasants then that would ease my pain of being this shit we are now.

Life is an illusion - sea of the lightless lighthouse -
Love is an illusion - sweet smell of the lifless flower -
Fortune is an illusion - oasis of the waterless desert -
Power is an illusion - wondrouse potion of the honorless merchant -

but....

War is pure reality - fight with the selfless self ,wordless world and lessful mind.

The same year my mom was born, 1965, so I could live my "best years" during the 1980's. :3

But I'd also like to live a year during WWII... Here in Sweden, of course. XD

Don't mean to entice any religious debate, but if I had to choose a time in the past (ideally I'd prefer to visit the future or just stay in the present time), it would probably be around the change in the calendar from BC to AD. I'm curious, to say the least.

Lately I've been fascinated with the idea of going and doing the disco. ;P

I guess that would mean I'd need to be born somewhere in the early 60's so I'd be old enough by then.

When I think about it, growing up back then would be so much different than growing up now. I can't even begin to imagine all the radical differences.

No need to go back in time for that, just visit modern day Germany. XD

Lol, I've heard that when it comes to current music trends, that some parts of Europe are a little behind America's current trend. I didn't really think much about it until now! :O

In Germany, do they have their silk shirts, dancing like John Travolta to the BeeGees? :3

I would personally choose the 500's because it would be sweet to be around when the knights/kings/ect. where all around.

No, you can't pick the future. -.-

500's wasn't the times of the knight yet, you'd miss it by an odd 500 yeas ; )

personally i'd like to stay in the present unless other factors were discussed.
if i could keep my knowledge i'd go back to the mid Tang Dynasty (so say.. around 750 AD?) as that was basically the highpoint of chinese civilization compared to the rfest of the world.

I guess I'd like to stay in this time period. Hopefully it'll be like Higurashi no naku koro ni where I'll make a better, yet different, choice. That would be great in my opinion. If I were reborn without having any of my present knowledge, however, I guess it would suck... and I might end up repeating whatever I did.

Probably the 70's or 80's, my mom always says the times were better then...
''... you know what? As a writer, I bring life into those who will experience happiness, sadness, torment and love in stories I write. They will have the opportunity to discover what being important means... and all because I will never be able to do the same as they could. If I could, I would put myself in their place right now. But no, my magic isn't like that...''

Now.
There are simply too many things I can only do now, and not before or in the future.

Old avatar and sig retired for now.

The same time I was born, I wouldn't like to live in a other time, but if I'd have to, Id say the early 20th century, or somewhere in the Roman era.

I'd like to give the later Elizabethan era go. Hmmm, avoiding the thieves, the smell, and the squalor might be a little hard, but honestly I just want to see a Shakespeare play performed in its original run, smell and over-crowding be damned, so I know - really know - what it was like. I'd also like to see what Shakespeare and Marlowe really looked like so I can, um, get their faces right in the (fairly slashy) book I'm reading at the moment.

I'm not proud.

I could careless about technology and computers. The only reason why I use them so much is because I'm stuck where I live right now.. and the reason for that is money.. everybody wants money for everything now

I would want to go back to a time where you could just go around and travel everywhere on foot and if you ran out of money you could just walk in and work somewhere and then start traveling again

Probably a time before guns since anybody with martial arts experience can fend for their own but no one can dodge a bullet

Pretty much impossible to do this in the US in this age :(

Britania in the mid 6th century AD so I can find out if there was a King Arthur... as long as I could come back to this era when I do find out. I prefer the present over any time period.

If I can't pick the future, I wouldn't pick at all.
Some ages could have been interesting, namely WWI or WWII, but being an infantryman is not fun at all. Infantry exercises never thrilled me, and the thought of doing it all live with my AG3 replaced by some crappy old shooter is certainly not a thrilling idea. Playing it all on my computer is adequate :D
