Basically it's like this. Guts was a lonely kid and his father figure merely used him and didn't really seem to appreciate him. Going to the battlefield and fighting for his survival was an escape for him from those emotions. So, he eventually met Griffith, a guy that really seemed to like him as a person. But, ever since Griffith's speech that time about his soldiers not being his equals because they don't fight for their dreams and only protect his....Guts felt as though he was inferior to him. And, in an effort to stand on the same ground with Griffith as an equal and friend, Guts wants to leave and find his own purpose in life...his own dream.

Unfortunately.....

Guts reason to leave the bank of hawk is understandable ;_; He just wanted to find his own dream. I wonder how will Griffith react to this though.

That emphasize on his own personality from guts was cool. He isn't someone who would take commands from someone but he's a commander himself.

"Infiltrating Windham (1)"

The first part of the chapter, about the Griffith dark and this strange flashback, does not anticipate something good :/

The fountain scene is starting to snowball to a catastrophe by making Guts realize that he wants be seen as Griffith's equal. If only he asked him beforehand they could've talked about it...

Great chapter!
The beginning of the end.....
Seeing the Band members get emotional when they see Griffith back again and these happy feelings...So beautiful!
So Guts leaves but gets confronted by Casca and then gets taken to a bar by Corkus and Jedeau where they are trying to talk him out of it. Meanwhile Casca trys to alert Griffith....!
Guts wants to accomplish something by himself so he can stand on the same level as Griffith! But what would that "accomplishment" be, Guts?
This situation will get out of control....

I feel like this chapter gives Guts's character a huge boost.
He doesn't want to be crushed by Griffith's dream. Well there Guts, the truth is I'm happy for him and for that conclusion that implies a lot.
Love it.

I think Guts has taken what Griffith said about a friend to heart. Hopefully he confronts him about this.
