| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- So the first episode looks basically like a lead-in: in 9 minutes we've been introduced to the circumstances and characters, action is just about to begin, but we'll have to wait for the second part to witness it. Art clearly is promising: it's basically Hellsing OVA stile + really detailed shading everywhere + darker pallet, so in combination it heavily resembles first colored WW2 chronicle videos. Also The Dawn special follows the manga perfectly close, panel by panel. |

| So this episode covered the first chapter of the manga. Need I say I loved it? It was so great seeing young Walter, Alucard (EDIT: its coffin that is, as Klimat kindly pointed my fail xD) as well as Integra's father animated. The only flaw is that it felt so SHORT. Btw, I wonder who's Walter's VA, to me it sounded like Paku Romi. |

It has been stated on the official site that Hirano simply wrote down the final part of The Down with no pictures, so the OVA team already has their material to finish this thing according to the author's idea, but I really doubt we will see manga of The Dawn completed... |
