@kuronokei: I've changed the things you can't, except it'll stay as an OVA; It didn't get a theater release.
However, Dante's Inferno might not qualify as anime under our anime DB guidelines. Most of the work except animation is done outside of Japan (at least according to IMDB, the only source I've found) so unless it receives a Japanese dub and release we might have to remove it.
That being said, if you want to add characters before knowing if it stays or not, there's a link right under "Characters & Voice Actors" that leads you to the add character page. Adding VAs is then done on the character's page.

@antitype: Why is the bottom screenshot in your pic tilted? Also, the majority of the movie is colorful but your whole picture is black and white? I fail to see how this would be an improvement, sorry. If you want to paste together two screenshots, one before and one after the blast, go for it but this won't do imho.

@Plate: Changed the main titles to your synonyms and cleaned up the synonyms, hopefully without fucking up the search.

@Dax: Removed. From the genre descriptions: "Dementia - Anime that have mind-twisting plots." I don't even know what that means but if you change your mind because of that, please reply :)

Hmm... Going off your description of the dementia "genre", remove it from Kuchu Buranko. It's only the art that is mind-twisting in that. The plot is pretty normal, until the last episode anyway.

Add dementia to Cat Soup, as that one definitely fits and The End of Evangelion is way more "demented" than the TV series, which already has the genre.

Other candidates for adding the Dementia genre to include:

Angel's Egg (The current genres don't do justice to how weird it is)
Inka Isha
Mind Game
Revolutionary Girl Utena: Adolescence Apocalypse (Just the movie, not the TV series)
Serial Experiments Lain (More demented than Evangelion TV, if you ask me)

I think it is the streaming that may give an impression of a 9 episode OVA (The Package being split into 2 with the stream - it's 1 episode in the disc) but it's doubtful since it says in the same page that it is only 8 episodes in all.

I can't seem to find a Japanese dub either and Wikipedia says it is in English language. I want that Japanese dub if there is one (for Mamiko Noto).

yes.. i agree with TsukikageRan, due to the stream of "The Package" into two parts, they gave the impression of a 9 eps OVA when in fact there's only 8 eps in this.

I've been looking for the Japanese dub but can't find it.

However, most of the time the first release of the anime is the most important one to us (as stated in the guidelines), though there are tricky cases like this one. A similar case, but on a larger scale would be Princess Tutu - 38 episodes aired on TV, but they were released as 26 episodes on DVD.

Technically, shouldn't that mean that Azumanga Daioh should be 130 5-minute episodes, then? Each episode was aired in 5-minute segments throughout the week, before being aired as a full episode at the weekend, resulting in 130 segments.

It would stupid to actually change this, of course, because everywhere else says it has 26 25-minute episodes and it would just result in mass confusion if MAL said any different.

So now I'm wondering. MAL places great importance on the first airing of the series, which is understandable. However, if the producers/company officially declares what number of episodes there are, would MAL adjust the number of episodes?

freedoleen has pointed out the case of Princess Tutu and flygon with the case of Azumanga Daioh. I'm just curious. It's not that I want to add 130 episode watched to my list. (#_#)

Azumanga is definitely an interesting example. It's sometimes difficult to stay consistent with the first-release-is-sacred rule (hence my "most of the time"), even though most of the time it's the best choice. It often depends on the point of view though. For example, if Chi's Sweet home was compiled on DVD, I don't think anyone would want us to change the episode count because of that. If Azumanga aired this year and each 5 min. episode was fansubbed, I don't think anyone would suggest to change the entry to reflect its (compiled) DVD release. Other than followng the first release in such cases our possibilities are:

a) the most available/popular release

b) the way it was released on DVD/BD, since that could be seen as the final release, where everything is as authors intended, not restricted by schedules/TV station's wishes etc.

One could argue "the most available release" around would mean DVD/BD, but it's definitely not the case (fansubs). And deciding things based on that could feel rather arbitrary at times, I believe.

Changing our policy on how to handle the episode count to option b) would also lead to certain inconsistencies, since other information (type, air date) would be from the first release, yet the episode count would be not.

@Sobzob: It's not like the current title is wrong, since they ARE Ryuusei no Gemini Specials. They are being released on Ryuusei no Gemini DVD/BD after all. But since the producers call it Kuro no Keiyakusha Gaiden, we will of course go with that. Thanks for the heads up.

@Anitnelav: Official parody specials are fine, just like recap episodes are fine. What's not allowed are AMVs and promotional material without any new animation.

I noticed that they changed the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni picture to a really dull looking one. Is it possible to upload the picture it had, or a new picture, instead of the one it currently has? It looks really dull and unattractive. It won't catch the attention of newcomers to the series. The one it had before looked REALLY good and attractive to newcomers. ^_^

I just hope someone doesn't mind fulfilling this simple request I ask of. Remember, a picture is worth more than a thousand words, and I believe this picture doesn't do Higurashi any justice. This coming from a fan of the series.

Add Shounen-ai to the genres.

I nkow I haven't seen this myself, but AniDB says it's Shounen-ai, MAL's Manga entry says it's Shounen-ai and it is/was being subbed by aarinfantasy, a fansub group which specialises in yaoi and shounen-ai anime, so I believe it is pretty safe to say that it is shounen-ai.

@Juliotaku: Out of the ones you posted, #1 is definitely best. However, the current one has more characters and the overall vibe is a lot more Higurashi than just Rena looking satisfied/sad? in a corner.

Can you remove http://cdn.myanimelist.net/images/anime/10/3958l.jpg from the Mahoujin Guru Guru pictures page? I am 99% sure it is a fanart, and I have uploaded some DVD covers (2 LQ Japanese covers and a HQ Italian cover) to replace that image with.

About the vibe, I'd have to disagree with you. I believe the first picture gives a more Higurashi vibe than the one it currently has. There are many other anime info pages where the default picture only features one character, usually the one that's more popular, and in this case, Rena is definitely the most popular, at least for the first season, because Rika is the main attraction of the second one. I also believe that this picture has better artwork than the one it has right now. The one it has right now honestly looks like a copy and paste job, and doesn't compare to other pictures out there. :P Besides, if you compare the current picture with the picture Higurashi Kai has, you'll see a HUGE difference, but if you compare the one I'm suggesting, then you should notice that they both look GREAT and compliment each other very well! ^_^

Anyway, I hope you can understand what I'm trying to saying. This series deserves a better looking picture than the one it has, and believe it or not, it means a lot to me, that's why I'm trying so hard. So please! ^_^;;
