What anime have you watched that made you feel inspired to do something new, change your way of life, adopt a catchphrase or philosophy from that anime, or just feel really inspired/elated?

I'd emphasize more what anime has touched/affected you very deeply.

GTO - inspired me to get along more with people by just being funny and understanding them (and shows becoming a teacher can be fun)
Toradora! - always be there for the people I love
Golden Boy - Studying can be fun
TTGL - just an inspiring anime for me in general

The Tatami Galaxy and Princess Tutu are the two series I look to whenever I feel down, they inspire me to try my best and appreciate what I have, even when a situation seems hopeless.

Welcome to the NHK.
Maybe didn't exactly inspire me, but somewhat made me think about my life so I guess it counts.

Clannad and Clannad: After Story -was- making a powerful statement but Kyoto Animation blew their chance at creating a masterpiece. It's still quite excellent though, and is a must-watch for anyone into anime.

Really, if you thought Angel Beats! showed you some kind of life meaning, then Clannad and Clannad: After Story will be nothing short of absolutely profound. I can bet on that.

Yumeiro Patissiere inspired to expand my culinary skills. Before that, I wasn't concerned about making sweet foods or desserts, but I realised that it would be nice if I learnt how to because then I could make things for my other half, and eventually, my children in the future.

I couldn't agree more.

Besides, Angel Beats made me ask existencial questions which is a bad thing since these questions don't have any answer.....especially for a religious guy like me.

Monster encouraged me to become a doctor, even if I am into engineering :D
Also, NANA has given an understanding of the way a punk lives his life...Even if I have never smoked, or desired smoking, I found it ordinary in the NANA characters.

I've seen that many people are affected by romance animes, some said that they should be present for the ones they love...However, I believe that that fantasy has nothing to do with the reality. On the opposite, we seek the fantasy in animes because it differs from reality ! It's a way of relaxation....Don't you think ?

Ima Soko ni Iru Boku. This anime always reminds that something good will happen if you just keep at it eventually, even if everything seems shitty atm. As a high school athlete, this anime is what helped me through my worst season so far.

I learned from Higurashi that if you kill people you can not only avoid arrest but forget all about it and it can make your problems all go away.

But in seriousness, probably Evangelion. I relate to Shinji so much that I drew some inspiration from it. And Rei, a bit.

I'd say Welcome to the NHK also. Unfortunately, I can see myself becoming a bit like Satou, but only a bit, not a dead-on hikikomori. However, some of the philosophical moments certainly hit me...

So far, maybe a bit of Mushi-shi, as well.

And a bit with Rakka and Reki's backstories in Haibane Renmei.

History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi. Got me to concentrate more on my Martial arts. I still use it to inspire me. The same goes for Dragon Ball, When Goku is training with Muten Roshi.

Practically any training arc or episode, kind inspires me to contrate more or and some times going till I collapse.

All Aria seasons.
I correlate the Undines on their road to becoming Primas to me reaching my dream job.
There are plenty of good morals in each episode, esp. in the Origination.

Wow, great topic.

Aria Series -
To take it easy, and enjoy life!

Clannad -
I was away in school, but watching it made me think of my family and friends back at home, and urged me to keep in touch with them a bit more often.

Hajime no Ippo -
After watching them train so hard every day, it sincerely inspired me to focus on my work and studies, and refuse to give up on a project even if it seemed to be too hard or troublesome.

Kiki's Delivery Service -
To visit Europe. And a promise to find time to adventure around a bit, when I get some money someday.

So, everybody,
Have you ever watched an anime and suddenly wanted to learn how to do something new, or adopt a new mindset?

For example, after watching Bartender, I had the urge to learn how to make cocktails.

You said anime, but I would assume manga is just as appropriate. It was "Suicide Island". It made me want to learn basic survival skills. An interesting (I thought so anyway) fact I came across in my research was the liquid inside of cactus is highly acidic. It will burn your throat and intestines; make you vomit with diarrhoea. Do not drink.
