Yeah, I'll always treasure 1997 and 2003 when the Marlins won those two World Series....without a doubt those were some of the greatest moments as a sports fan :)

not sure what would be a better outcome, knowing my team lost to the champs or to see that team burn in flames

Hmm....I know what you mean, personally if my team loses to the eventual champs it kinda makes me feel a little better because I know we lost to a great team....

But at the same time I feel like CURSING that team for beating my team...

One hell of a game...that is all. Best World Series in a while.

Its only fitting for Texas to blow a game since the Cards did it earlier in the series.

Very true.

What a crazy series , wonder if game 7 will be closer to 1-0 or if it will be another shootout like today.

That had to be one of the top 5 MLB games of all time. Two blown two-run leads in a row, multiple heroic home runs, the hometown kid tying the game in the 9th and then winning it in the 11th, on top of all the errors and lead changes from earlier in the game...wow. I think the Rangers might have survived the 11th if they had left Feldman in. After last year's World Series, as a Giants fan I knew that bringing in Mark Lowe was practically waving the white flag, that guy sucks.

David Freese. Forget WS MVP.

He's the freakin postseason MVP. He's won more games by himself than their entire rotation.

Ron Washington should be fired, actually he should be fired before the game ends. Pumped that the cardinals are going to win. Rangers decide to lose 2 in a row for the 1st time since august... straight up choking.

I was hoping that Texas would get their first win. They could've wrapped things up last night's game, but that didn't happen. That's what happens when you play like shit the last game of World Series :P

The Pujols sweepstakes officially begin....... $30 million dollar man?
I'm sure he'll be back in St. Louis though, where else would he go honestly?

Pretty obvious pujols will stay in st. louis, but if he doesn't I would love the jays to make a huge run at him. Doubt the teams with the biggest need for a 1st baseman cubs/nationals/jays/etc sign him because they also have huge needs for starting pitching.

To be honest, it doesn't make sense for the Yanks to go after Pujols, they have PLENTY of batting power, they need to get pitchers...

As for Boston....after their EPIC meltdown, they'll be desperate to do something drastic.

Honestly I don't know where Pujols will end up, but it's possible he just played his last game as a Cardinal.....although what a GREAT way to play your last game for a certain team.

lol i doubt either of these teams get him, but if money were the issue these 2 teams would be the frontrunners, they seem to have infinite billion dollars

Bumping this since I don't see a 2012 season thread.

Ryan Braun tested positive for a performance enhancer. 50 game ban! Pretty surprised about this. He doesn't seem the type and looked pretty natural but apparently not. Wonder if anyone else in that clubhouse used. Corey Hart would be my guess.

Prince Fielder getting 9 years / $214 million from the Detroit Tigers.
Just like Pujols, a team comes outa nowhere and gives up a huge deal. Was not expecting him to go to the place where his dad played... hope hes prepared for all the comparisons and questions he has been avoiding while he was here.

Good luck and congrats to him, was fun watching him as a Brewer these last few years :D

What an absolutely fucking absurd contract. The MLB needs a much higher penalty for teams that just shell out for the luxury tax every year because they can spend freely like this. It amazes me when the Rays are able to compete every year against teams like this. Nobody outside of a select few organizations will be able to sign good players if this continues. Nobody is worth anywhere near that much money. Not prime Arod, not Pujols and certainly not a career .280 hitter in Fielder. Ridiculous. That said Detroit is definitely the AL favorite to me so long as Verlander doesn't have to shoulder so much next year and guys like Austin Jackson continue to develop.

Agreed lol. Thats what its like with no cap. It also feels great seeing small market teams overcome that and succeed regardless.

I never thought of Detroit as a high spender either, this opened my eyes for sure.
Side note, Milwaukee is going to be over $100 million this season in players payroll from re-signing home grown talent. I never thought I would see this happen.
