Hehe, this episode was great. I loved Goemons facial expression when he ran from Lupins half car in the end. Seems like they finally became friends, somehow :)

Very entertaining episode, now Goemon's part of the gang. ;)

The part when Lupin said "I LOVE YOU!" that made the teacher faint made me laugh.

Love these samurai episodes, talking about swords and techniques was interesting too. It really amused me when Fujiko was among the candidates, somehow I still don't expect these things to happen.

Those last scenes were hilarious xD

One of the best episodes 5 / 5

Once again the pacing is kind of weird; the way Lupin and Goeman mess around with each other for several minutes after the plot has finished is strange, but that was the best sequence in the episode. That Goeman cutting Lupin's car in half ends up amounting to a prank is pretty funny.

Kind of interesting to see Lupin II. I've never seen him even mentioned before so sometimes I wondered if was an accountant and our Lupin took heavily after his dear old granddad.

Don't care for Goemon,he's the weakest and most uninteresting of the gang honestly (imo)

Whenever an episode focuses on him can tell I'll most likely won't like it.

Great episode. Goemon appears again, and though they clash at first, he ends up the episode on good terms with Lupin. I love that his sense of justice made him give Lupin a chance to recover those scrolls, and that he was able to trick even Fujiko as he protected the real ones until the end. And also we see him slicing a car in half for the first time, nice! xD Their shared laughter in the end was so precious by the way.

LMAO Lupin please. That armor.
Lupin can be really low, unlike Goemon. But that friendly rival ending was wholesome.
F for Lupin's Mercedes, though.

The hole traps were hilarious, especially the last one. Seems like Goeman's finally joining the gang!

Half the car still running. LOL I don't question the logic here. I wonder if we find out Fujiko's backstory.

Very fast pace for the narrative, too much, but at least the story was largely explained without many narrative gaps, so there is a certain thread of logic between the various scenes. The episode was more than intriguing, it was fun, but this is also the positive side of this anime that proves poly-angular in its contents from the beginning. The best thing about this episode is to finally see the whole group, now the real story of Lupin III begins, yay !!! Last thing to mention is that another piece of Lupin's complex personality comes out in this episode.

EDIT: Rumors, also verified, tell me that this episode is the directorial debut of Isao Takahata and Hayao Miyazaki with the name of "Gruppo Direction A Production".

Okay, this episode is my favorite so far, super goofy. Seeing the process of Lupin forcing Goemon's serious veil to completely fall apart was really entertaining. Some of these series 1 episodes have been pretty meh, but this one's special.
Opinions are opinions, and differing opinions can co-exist. 🙂 But I don't do debate, life's too short to spend time debating people.
