Hmmm as long as the art style is clean, and nice to the point where I can clearly see what's going then it's fine. =^-^=

But an example of an art style I enjoy would be from Akame ga Kill! I like that type of art style.
There are a few others I could list, but I can't name them off the top of my head.

Any style is fine so long it's not shoujo-ish sparkling type...

my favourite are something like tosh or cuvie tho... bright but not sparkling, good environment details, manga-ish character design (i prefer this than bosshi's detailed minute expression stuff) and yeah.. mm it got nice curves ~

Im still a manga noob but Id say anything by Ohkubo Atsushi and I for one actually enjoy Attack on Titan's art style.

edit: Now that I think about it, the last few volumes of Trigun MAXIMUM were definitely easier to interpret so Id anything by Yasuhiro Nightow these days.

Obata Takeshi and Takehiko Inoue-sensi(s) are my favorites hands down for me, I tend to like realistic but yet manga like art, and those two can deliver master pieces, I mean the details!

Kaoru Mori's art is simply amazing (Emma, Otoyomegatari)
Ei Itou's characters are very well drawn in my opinion (hentai, Tetragramaton)
Makato Yukimura's art at Vinland Saga is very good too.

there are 3 people,

1. Takehiko Inoue (Vagabond, Slam Dunk)
2. Kiyohiko Azuma (Yotsuba&!, Azumanga Daioh)
3. Masakazu Katsura (I"s, Zetman)

They're all have very distinctive styles and their works really inspire me.

and still waiting patiently for a 3rd season of Spice & Wolf :'|

I'd still say I'm fairly new to Manga, but at the mo I kind of really like the general Shoujo style. Seen a few, and so far Hiyokoi seems to do the best job of it, as it also has only black and white, and hardly any grey (if any).

D. Gray-Man. I stopped reading it a long time ago because it updates monthly and I just couldn't remember what happened in previous chapters, but one thing it always had going for it was the artwork. It was shounen-esque, but at the same time it was always elegantly drawn and never hypersexualised. That last point is always a plus in my book. My only complain is that the battle scenes were kind of lacking, but hey, can't have the cake and eat it too.

The one I enjoy the most currently is Sakisaka Io's style in Strobe Edge. It's used mostly in shoujo-type manga but it's pretty popular and used nowadays. I like it because it's clean and very cutesy. Although it's a bit sad because there's not much space for funny faces like Skip Beat, it's nice in its own way.

I'd say Skip Beat, too, but I enjoy it more for its story than its art style, which is pretty great.

I am a big fan of Oh Great's! art.
Truly amazing.
All creatures are, unable to survive unless they trust and obey someone who is better than they are.
To escape that pressure. Those who are better than others, search for their superiors.
Those who are superior, search for even stronger individuals they can believe in.
Thus kings were born. and thus the king of the kings was born.
A king must be greedier.
A king must laugh harder.
A king must be more furious than everyone else. That's exactly why his subordinates envy and adore him.
And thats why the flame of wanting to be like the king can burn in the hearts of every civilian.

Can't say I have a "favorite" but I particularly like Kenjiro Hata's newer-ish style than how it was in the beginning. The expressions along with the cutesy style has me grinning from time to time. Well, I guess I shouldn't say "new", more like improved. Or Immortal Regis/Cavalier of the Abyss is a favorite Manhwa, with great art.

kurumatani haruko's style especially in her more psychological/tragedy/romance manga's. I just like the darkness and overlaying of dark hatches near the character's faces to show a certain level of madness and insanity that goes through their mind as such as in Bokura No Koi Wa Shi Ni Itaru Yamai No You De, which I love.

I was blown away by The Bride of the Water God and Otoyomegatari, however, the first one has got a storyline that is like a soap opera, and the second is not bad at all, it's just that I would like something different atm. The details in these manga are simply amazing.

When it comes to shoujo, I like the art of Ao Haru Ride, Kedamono Kareshi and Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji which basically means the clean lines and nicely drawn handsome/pretty characters.

Guess I'll post some more since this thread was revived. I'm loving Nakayama, Atsushi style from Nejimaki Kagyuu. It can range from extremely cutesy to horrific in as little as two panels. lol There's also Kamatani, Yuhki which has a shoujo feel to it(thin bodies and etc), but still retain a very shounen look at the same time. I've still yet to finish Shounen Note and Nabari no Ou though. Then there's Amano Kozue's style which brings the characters and town to life

The artstyle in an anime/manga is very important for me to start watching/reading it , specially with the characters. I can't stand big eyes or disproportionate bodies. Code Geass was one of the exceptions because the plot was very entertaining, though.

I love the realistic and detailed drawing, with human-like proportions.
Takehiko Inoue (Slam Dunk, Vagabond, Real) is my favorite artist.
