If every animal were harmless and legal to own, which one would you like to have as a pet the most?

It might end up owning me though. If cost were not a factor...yeah I agree, a raccoon would be pretty cool. So would skunks!

A tiger would be cool but I imagine it would quickly get expensive buying food for it

It would only be slavery if I forced it to work, but instead I would work for my human, to make it happy.

It would be my pet, not my slave. It's free to run away from home, if being treated well doesn't make it happy.

@Zarutaku I'm not trying to play word games or anything, but pet ownership is kinda a form of slavery, in a way. You own a living being and hold complete control of their freedom (and let's just say there wouldn't be much pet owners willing to let their pet escape if they wanted to).

I don't see the mere ownership of a living being as slavery, because that would have to involve forced labor.

Pets, who aren't allowed to escape by their owners, are captives, but I wouldn't like to hold my human captive, I would let it be free, and if it wants to be pampered, it can come to me anytime.

Can the animal be immortal too? I don't want to risk a loss.

Eww, my house is a sterile and clean environment. Not even drain gnats are allowed to exist. Like, I want sci-fi buildings... endless white corridors, glowing panels, walls that never scuff, floors that never squeak. I want my home to have the interior design of a Star Destroyer... sterile, orderly, balanced, minimalist - no clutter, no dusty book shelves, no old game controllers lying in the corner, nothing except for essential furniture and equipment.

@Fukoku That would take one hell of a huge backyard (or are you flaunting your wealth with us?). But now that I think about it, a mammoth would probably die from heat unless you live in Alaska or some other cold place like that.
