Was nice seeing the different POV of what went down in the past two episodes, but from Ghostblades POV ofc.

Pretty sweet backstory as well. Interested to see what else we'll do with him next episode.

One of my favorite episodes so far. Such a funny plot twist, I really wasn't expecting this lol

Since I was not fond of Loli's arc, Ghost Blade's brought back my attention and interest, specialy because it brings more meaning to Loli's story.

Yet again I go into a TBHX arc with low expectations and come out very happy. I was kinda disappointed we were going back to a male MC after 3 straight banger arcs with badass female heroes, but I really like Ghostblade and am rooting for him now! Dude is just an extremely socially awkward protective dad trying to get close to his daughter :/

The opening scene with Ghostblade’s backstory and family life was so well directed. I like how over dramatic it seems, but that’s how excessively loud environments feel to introverted people. It’s an assault on the senses and they portrayed it perfectly. To all of his family, it probably felt like a joyous celebration, but it was hell for Ghostblade.

Me and the assassin I pulled by being chronically online, lmaoo Zhang and Ghostblade’s unconventional romance had me fucking crying bro. There’s no way you’re telling me she was texting during every date, the wedding AND said “I do” via text message. A gen z love story. It’s interesting how becoming a parent was the catalyst to change her life and make her become more present in reality, whereas Ghostblade just couldn’t make the transition as easily. The look on bro’s face when he found out he might have to live with his in-law’s and talk to people again 😭

Can’t really blame Zhang for leaving and taking Nuonuo, but damn she didn’t have to say he was “dead to Nuonuo”

Very cool to get Ghostblade’s perspective of the alley fight and all the “stalking” scenes. Turns out he didn’t have a scary mask on nor was he trying to be mysterious, he’s just so naturally aloof and scary that Nuonuo misinterpreted! He could only get closer to her in the way he knew how.

Yea apologies, this arc was needed. I learned a lot about Ghostblade and totally changed my perspective of Luoli/Nuonuo’s arc. This whole time buddy just wanted to establish a relationship with his daughter and she doesn’t even know everything he’s been through to do that.. :/ hopefully they get a reunion soon. For now, let’s see what these aliens are about.

Seeing the events of the last arc from Ghostblades perspective was great. His fondness for silence combined with the unpredictability of going viral in the trust system made for a unique origin for this assassin.

I hope Nuonuo finds out her stalker is actually just her dad who's lacking in social expertise.

I think I already said "this is the darkest hero yet" twice to this anime, but here's the third time "this is the darkest hero yet".

Just to be clear, it's not a compliment.

Man, some parts of this were REALLY dark. Why did she get so mad at him, she had to understand him when she married him. Oh wait, no she did that on impulse.
And I thought I had problems approaching people.

Perfect segue to the Johnny arc once Ghostblade's arc is done next episode and aligns with the last image we saw from Queen's arc.

As many predicted, Ghostblade is the stalker.

The way they executed on his origin story within just a single episode was incredible to watch. Pure cinema. The emotional flip from how much he values silence from his affective disorder while being a "silent assassin hero" to seeing him struggle to say anything over the phone to his daughter because of his followers was absolutely amazing.

Adds another layer to Loli's arc too which is nice given how much it felt lacking compared to some of the other character stories.

Really looking forward to the next episode to see how he reconciles with his daughter and what's happening with this alien spaceship.

Based on the episode structure they have released already I am guessing the next episode is much more focused on building background for the plot and then they'll flip back to the Johnnies to do their origin story for 2 episodes and then the 3rd episode will be "present day" from Queen/Ghostblade seeing the giant monster Johnny after the death of Sheng to wrap up the Johnny arc.

I was worried about how the story was going to pull together all these disparate characters and plot points into a coherent narrative within just 24 episode, but after this episode I think the mad lads behind this series might just pull it off after all...

This one genuinely made me laugh out loud. While I do sympathize with wanting silence due to a large family, him having problems with communication is very frustrating because of all the problems it comes with. I've seen this in anime waaay too many times.

Still I loved seeing the perspective of the "stalker" lmao. Just trying to see your kid but having ninja skills and the worst problem-solving skills keep getting in the way~

animation quality is dropping heck the sakuga fights is just reuse from the last loli episodes might be a tight production now since its consecutive 2 cours

so ghostblade is not a stalker of nono but actually her dork father dang

ghostblade is cool though a silent killer but ye he being emotionless is a problem to his family

but damn the peoples public image of ghostblade is that he cannot talk so thats why he cannot reminds of that hero that cannot sit on old episodes

This had a lot of potential but I don't like the end result. As is I think this is the most useless episode so far...
As I see it, what we learned in this episode (skipping the unimportant details) is:
  • Ghostblade had a very annoying noisy family.
  • He became unable to talk because random people posted videos of him being silent.
  • He married a woman that also liked being silent and they had a child.
  • He tried to learn more about his daughter, because he mistook her friend as a bad influence, because they mistook him as a stalker
    (I hate misunderstandings)
  • And... that's it. There is no conclusion. (If there is a meaningful one next episode, I'll like this episode more.)
Right now it feels like it would have changed nothing if the stalker was a random person and Ghostblade was still a mystery.
I think the backstory would have been a lot more compelling if there was no monologue from him and it was actually silent.
That could help a lot in making us feel like he does.

WAIT, has anyone realised that the person ghostblade killed at the beginning of the episode is johnnys dad! Bc in the opening they show us all the previous X and one of this is similar to Johnny, also they state in his character trailer that his dad was a previous X. And in this episode we see him getting killed by ghostblade! Also we already know that mighty glory’s CEO it’s pretty shady from e-soul’s arc and probably uses ghostblade as his personal hitman.

Honestly, the last 2 episodes were boring. But when episode 15 aired, I felt like I had to rewatch the 2 episodes I skipped.
Turns out, the one who was stalking Nounou was actually her own father, who wanted to understand his child more deeply.
Her father is a Hero known as Ghostblade (honestly, I have a hard time remembering the real names of each Hero).
Episode 15 contains Ghostblade’s backstory. One conclusion I drew is that trust can indeed give anyone the strength to become a Hero. But on the other hand, it also torments them.

I'm really curious about the alien ship that's going to be studied. I hope someone shares more info about it on the forum.

Okay, we're back on track guys :D

After so many 2D episodes with the same artstyle, we finally got mixed animation again (no 3D models though). It was great to see those experimental animation scenes from Ghostblade's past. It helped feel the dread of all the noise he was experiencing through the rough artstyle. Very good choice to change the art in those scenes.

(Sidenote: Me being an introvert with a tiny social battery, I can almost fully relate to his stress with such a loud family. For me it's loud colleagues who drain me totally, I'm soooo tired whenever we go out together. People think I'm a good listener but I am just too tired to respond for hours xD That phone wedding was kinda messed up though... I would be furious if my partner stared at his phone during such an important moment lol)

I think Ghostblade tried his best to understand his daughter with the limited capabilities that he has (being extremely introverted, unable to talk, being afraid of loud places, having had VERY dark thougths in the past). Him trying to understand her hobbies is bittersweet. He cares. But he can't show her.

But what will come back to hunt him might be the murder of Johnny's dad. There'll be DEEP hatred directed at him in future episodes or the tournament arc next season as soon as The Johnnys find out who killed their father...

I don't care if he has a disorder and can't adapt to society, and all he wants to do is connect with his daughter. He killed the father of Lil Johnny (one of my fave characters already), and that's a huge MINUS in my book. And now, if he gonna go kill Luo Li's father too, OH DAMN U CAN GO FUCK YOURSELF, U FUCKEN RECLUSE!!!

Angry rants aside, this was a genuinely creatively done episode. Ghostblade (Wang Yi, that's his name)'s narration flowed so smoothly with the episode that it hardly felt like exposition. Besides, I have a theory on what He been up to, killing on orders.

I believe Wang Yi is actually the cleanup guy for Rock. I DO think that Rock hired him to get rid of Sheng. Lil Johnny is in DOS, so makes sense that his father would be too, right? And considering that DOS n MG (Wang Yi n Rock's Company) were at odds till Queen's debut, it stands to reason that the bitchy MF Rock got Ghostblade to get rid of Sheng, to "eliminate competition''. And now it looks like he plans to do the same thing with Luo Li's father Luo Tong. So the next ep is gonna be somewhat of a both Ghostblade and Luo Li episode eh?

That was great.

Ghostblade's life is a comedy, except he's not aware of it. Which makes everything even funnier.

It seems like Ghostblade has both misophonia – possibly as a side effect of autism – and a mood disorder that makes it hard for him to understand emotions. Almost reminds me of Meursault. I think this is why he finds it easy to kill other people; he simply doesn't feel anything, and is as such completely off the moral compass. Even worse; it's implied that his trust value prevents him from feeling emotions or speaking.

Something more serious, though, is the fact that it seems like Ghostblade specializes in killing people. I don't see a lot of people talking about this, but he says this:
"Greed is wrong. Weakness is wrong. Violence is wrong. Lying is wrong. Betrayal is wrong. And knowing too much is also wrong."

It is implied that he was used as a way for Rock and the Hero Association to get rid of anyone they don't like. With Rock micromanaging every aspect of his heroes' lives, this is terrifying; if Rock's heroes do the wrong thing, want too much, or fail, they could get killed by Ghostblade.
