'Shin Samurai-den Yaiba' Reveals Additional Cast, Opening Theme, First Promo

The official website for the new television anime adaptation of Gosho Aoyama's Yaiba manga announced additional cast, opening theme, key visual (pictured), and the main promotional video on Sunday. The anime is scheduled to premiere on April 5 at 5:30 p.m. on Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV.

Fuji Mine: Kimiko Saitou (Migi to Dali)
Shizuka Mine: Rina Satou (Toaru Majutsu no Index)
Raizou Mine: Atsushi Miyauchi (Nomad: Megalo Box 2)
Gerozaimon Geroda: Takeharu Onishi (Kekkaishi)
Kumo-otoko: Shuuhei Sakaguchi (Naruto: Shippuuden)
Namako-otoko: Kana Ichinose (Sousou no Frieren)
Kojirou Sasaki: Gou Inoue (Boku no Hero Academia 2nd Season)

Rock band Blue Encount (Gintama°, Boku no Hero Academia 4th Season) is performing the opening theme "BLADE" which is previewed in the promotional video below.

Takahiro Hasui (Mob Psycho 100 III) helms the anime at Wit Studio. Touko Machida (Isekai Nonbiri Nouka) is handling tthe series composition and Yoshimichi Kameda (Mob Psycho 100) is designing the characters. Yutaka Yamada (Great Pretender) and Yoshiaki Dewa (Jigokuraku) are composing the music.

Aoyama serialized the action adventure manga in Weekly Shounen Sunday magazine from 1988 to 1993. Shogakukan collected the chapters into 24 volumes from 1989 to 1994. Produced by Pastel, the 52-episode television anime aired from 1993 to 1994.

Hope everyone who has this on their ptw like goofy villains. Since this show will have a lot of them. And it never takes itself seriously.

Don't know why there's no comedy tag. It absolutely leans heavily into the comedy department, even if it does have action and adventuring in it.

The manga, although somewhat repetitive is, I liked it a lot. It's like a Dragon Ball in its beginnings and I love that. I love Aoyama's drawing style from the 90's and that the remake keeps it is amazing.

It's not getting enough hype in the west, thank goodness it will be successful in Japan (they love Gosho Aoyama).

If this was from the current Jump everyone would be losing their minds. Sad, but true.
