@Nurguburu I agree with you on the speed part halfway. At the same time, with the speed, I do understand if you're trying to finish a show that you really don't care for, but you're already close to finishing it and don't want to waste time trying to watch it because everyone's talking about it, or whatever else. Watching it faster definitely saves some time, but it's not like there's really a right way to watch anime anyway, and also at least the anime is getting more views, I guess. The worst is just when people are doing other things, like on their phones or whatever, and say they're watching it while missing some major stuff without realizing it or even mission minor stuff. That's just so annoying; like, you're not watching it, but once again there's no right way to watch anime, so who am I to judge? But watching it in dub can sometimes give more emotion if you don't know the original language. Whenever I watch anime in dub, I'm like, "What am I missing in sub?" and whenever I watch anime in sub, I'm like, "What am I missing in dub?" I do mainly watch all in sub anyways, but I still have occasions where I watch it in dub because I might be watching it with someone else, or I feel there's a lot of emotion that I might be missing from not actually understanding the language. Like I watched The Case Study of Vanitas in English; gosh, I'm so glad I did because it was so good in English where I could understand it and feel the emotions more. Now I understand I can feel the emotions still in the original language, but still sometimes the language you understand hits different in different anime. And I'm definitely going to rewatch Princess Jellyfish in English this summer; I've been planning that from the moment I tried the show out in both languages but decided on Japanese. I need to hear the good ol' pet names in English when he's talking. Literally love those characters. I don't know, but it's just a far-fetched comparison between watching it sped up vs. dubbed, but at the same time the comparison does make sense when you say, "and pretend you know know what the author and the anime creators want to show" I see where it might take away what they want to show, but at the same time, whatever some people might just not be able to enjoy something in another language or get dizzy reading the subtitles and trying to watch the show or whatever. |
