The official website of the Skip to Loafer (Skip and Loafer) anime series announced a second season on Friday. Misaki Takamatsu, the original creator, drew an illustration to commemorate the announcement (pictured). P.A. Works, the animation studio behind the first season, will also produce the second season.

The first season adapting Takamatsu's coming-of-age manga aired in 12 episodes in Spring 2023. Crunchyroll streamed the anime with subtitles and dub.

Takamatsu began serializing the manga in Monthly Afternoon in August 2018. Kodansha published the tenth volume on March 22, with the 11th volume going on sale on December 23. Skip to Loafer has a cumulative 3 million copies of its volumes in circulation.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga in English in February 2021 and released the tenth volume on October 22.

Synopsis
In order to pursue her dream of bringing positive changes to Japan, Mitsumi Iwakura leaves her countryside town to attend a prestigious high school in the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. As she has already mapped a clear life plan, she has absolute confidence that there will be zero mishaps from then onwards.

Despite her ambitious promise, the country girl ends up running late on the first day when she gets lost on her way to school. Fortunately, she meets a fellow first-year student, Sousuke Shima, who is in the same situation and offers to go with her. They eventually make it to school, but the misfortunes do not end there, as Mitsumi leaves an unfavorable first impression in front of her classmates.

Nevertheless, the class soon takes notice of her friendship with Sousuke despite their opposing personalities. Only time will tell whether Mitsumi will be able to forge fruitful relationships with her classmates, and she will certainly not be alone. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Great news!

Very much liked the first season except the bit of drama towards the end. Just hope that one girl will be making far less appearance this time.

Whoa. I don't know why but I was skeptical of it getting another season. I am happy I was wrong. Looking forward to this.

@iwubanime It has always been, and deservedly so, a fairly popular realistic SoL. But I didn't know why they took a few years off from anime.

I enjoyed Season 1, but it's the storylines that came afterwards that solidified my love for the series. My most anticipated show now.

And those two in the visual always make me grin like an idiot.

Just an FYI: Crunchyroll didn't make a dub for this show, despite what the article says.

They were always gonna take their time with a 2nd season just cos it a monthly series, don't wanna catch up too quickly and run out of material to adapt.

This is wonderful news to hear! It also gives me a good excuse for why I haven't made any progress with continuing the manga.
