This is my first time creating an episode discussion, which is sad because it seems like I'm the only one still watching and enjoying this show.
So far it had been pretty tame compared to Season 1, but things just changed!
It's true that out of every character we've met, Iyo was the odd one out. Her/his ability seemed to be changing appearance, but also shield and spears?
(Note: I don't think we know the name of the candidate impersonating Iyo, so I'll be referring to him as He)
Now it's clear that His ability is impersonating anyone (we don't know if they have to be dead) AND gaining their ability!
The shield and spears are probably Iyo's original ability which he gained after changing into her.
So now that He has changed into Akitsu, he can use the ability to move objects through time.
There are still some unanswered questions (as always with Kamierabi), because this didn't seem like the simple use of the ability we saw in Season 1.
At first I thought He had sent his consciousness to the future like Akitsu did and most of what happened in this episode was a potential future He saw.
But if that was the case, Eko and Lall would not remember what happened. So my guess is that it's a combination of Akitsu's and Keita's abilities.
With how little we know about Akitsu, I would not be surprised if he could turn back time all along and we never got to see it.
Almost nothing is certain for now, we need more information.
At least we can say that He seems to be the most powerful character in the anime!
(And he doesn't even have a character page on MAL!)

@gorkthe134th It could actually be Akitsu, we saw Iyo bleed from the eyes and collapse, so they were probably incapacitated, same as everyone but the mysterious masked guy and Akitsu.

Time manipulation powers do tend to be nearly the most broken, albeit Goro's ability was basically god mode with the trade off that he would basically become less human, ultimately "ascending" in a way at the end of season 1. It's a cerebral kind of series, yet also goes by faster than you'd think with that in mind

Sasaki staying by Lall surely was a conscious effort since she's been shown too much of the latter's world, and them wanting to make a replica of Iyo (who's now become a famous actress), now she's added into the picture by hook.

The interrogation with Iyo (who's more of the afterimage based on her) wielded more or less similar results as Honoka that they've forgotten Goro, and the next battle between her and Sasaki's benefactor (who's also a God candidate), but not expecting Mitsuko's interference, and even more wih Akitsu stopping Sasaki before she got betrayed, plus turning back time...

Unpredictable is all I can say, it's unhinged.

our guy is back; this episode was great. so far i don't see why the score is so low; perhaps people wanted to hate it no matter what since the first season was...not great.
