I am starting to wonder if Noor is actually under a divine curse that prevents him from learning or being informed of his true strength. Honestly, if they explained it the way the do the restriction and covenant in HxH, I could suspend my disbelief.

I think other characters were already wary of Noor even before the recent episodes (although, they're probably a lot more impressed now).

Unless they somehow met him while he was training in the forest, I think they may have known Noor's parents, so he could just be someone special. Now, I would like to think that he was made to be like this, perhaps it's his inborn skill or smth, where he will never perceive that he is strong (I Parry Confidence?). That way he will always train like the world is about to end because a flame is under his him to get better otherwise he will be the worst of the worst. But if that's actually the case, then how hasn't he given up. Well he also parries despair (this is all I can come up with).

Anyways, the moment this man actually hung swords like laundry and decided to swing another sword vaguely in that direction while calling it a parry, he was already beyond common sense. How the world itself still recognizes that as a parry is even more bizarre. I'm just going to translate Noor's "parry" as "space manipulation" where he can use a sword to push space in the direction of his swing which enables him to move the objects within that space and anything that interacts with it. This skill has gotten so advanced that whenever his eyebrows move or he blinks, these minute actions are enough to parry the neuron activations in his brain leading to the gaps in thinking we see right now...

It's the main selling point of this story. The author interview that at first it's not intention to have Noor underestimating his own power, but now it's intended. Some Reddit users try to explain that since Noor live alone for 14 years he lack common sense, and people around him already assume that he has common sense or some deep philosophy as expected from his overpowered skill, that's why no one dare to correct him. But honestly to me it's just the main selling point, nothing deeper behind this plot. Just like how One Punch Man always defeat enemy in one punch.

It's just a gag/trope that's becoming increasingly common these days, and no amount of BS mental gymnastics/reasoning from fans explaining why Noor is as dense as a brick with their garbage writing excuses, will convince me otherwise. It can work fine in some anime, but it's far more miss than hit in this show.

This anime showcases the typical comedy of errors trope. So, no need for common sense. Just enjoy, laugh and move on.

I gave this a 6. If Noor would realize and accept that he is at the very least slightly above average, I could raise it to a 9, but it is so infuriating that I refuse to give it a higher ranking until at least that happens. Comedy errors is only funny for so long. This stopped being funny after episode 3. I like basically everything else about the story and world, but Noor is single handedly parrying my ability to enjoy it.

I was hoping they would be some sort of character development but never mind.

Its really infuriating, that ossan adventurer show is the same and so are many others. I don't know who decided MCs being complete clueless idiots is supposed to be fun.

At least the MC in that one eventually realized that he was pretty strong compared to most people.

With how strong Noor is, parry is a useless skill to him because he has the strength to block any attack. Most of the time he isn't even using parry. Like at the end of the last episode, he did not parry the bell tower, he hit it.

This is 5/10.

He indeed parried everything. A potentially good story, good dialogue, humour bits, character growth etc. He fended it all off. Even his last two braincells that might have been able to perceive reality by not being immeasurably delusional and ignorant. He was even able to parry the thoughts of the other characters so they were never able to say them out loud. Magnificent proficiency.
