These type of shows about being inside videogames rarely make any sense but the author knows about this stuff for this show, event triggers and the use of instances, etc. That stutter / slowdown is most of the time a curse but sometimes can be a blessing.

Why did the framerate drops conveniently end after they didn't need to dodge anymore?

Why the hell is he wondering if he'll respawn when he dies? One of his friends is literally caught in an infinite death loop. Not only does he know he'll respawn, he knows he'll respawn literally as many times as he does.

Why does Nikola trip over flat surfaces?

The candle was almost entirely full before the fight with the knight. Did they spend almost two hours fighting it?

Why did they have to "kill" the boss dude if he's just going to come back again?

Maybe it was because the trio moved away from the cramped area, maybe it was because the game's engine finally adjusted to the new stressing circumstance, maybe it was because of something else.

Are you kidding? That's a completely different situation: Haga's friend is currently stuck in a eternal loop between life and death because she got caught in a instant death trap with the invincibility mode turned on.
Haga was wondering what would happen to him if he died the normal way in the game.

Yes it matters. If you don't care about your stories' worlds maintaining some internal consistency, then why bother following them in the first place? Why not just say they took a giant shit and woke up in the real world?



Yeah, no, I'm very clearly seeing this as the regular revive system, with only a small tweak for the fact that she's not supposed to die. So instead of setting her coords to a respawn point, they get set to the spot just before she dies.

Obviously the player, since I'm clearly operating on the assumption that people come back. In fact, their not coming back would be proof that they're also just AI themselves, and their flesh bodies just went home.

You're dead wrong and your speculation is worthless, you heard directly from Haga what happened to his friend.
Here's Haga telling Nikola what happened in the comic (it's the same as the anime):

It's the invicibility mode that she used while messing around that keeps reviving her, not the respawn system for players.

Your assumption is wrong but you're still half right in your wrongness (I'm specifically talking about Amano's boss here).

It'd be nice considering this happened when the enemies were still loaded in. By all means, it looks like they'd be doing that at least until they went through a door. Also, if there was ever a time for the clumsy village girl to trip, it'd be right when the very way everything moves changes for no apparent reason. You can't just blame the number of enemies for a problem... then immediately ignore the problem.



Yeah, I'm not seeing how that contradicts anything. It literally said she dies, then is revived. They already have a system for respawns. You're implying that the devs made an entirely redundant revive system for god mode rather than just preventing her HP from going down.

But let me set the record straight on Nikola, because she didn't trip at all in the original comic:


It contradicts everything about your theory.
She constantly dies and revives because she's stuck using the goddamned invicibility mode while being caught in an instant death trap; it's a bug, not a feature for Pete's sake, and also something that's in line with the main theme of this work.
Namiko's abnormal death and revival thing is clearly not meant to be the standard case for dead/dying players and what's happening right now to Amano's boss is also different from that bizarre situation (and that's not a spoiler, just a rational deduction).

Yeah, the bug is being revived right in place, since instead of being processed like a normal death, the game's like "Dea- oh wait, never mind. Do-over". The bug is the soft lock, not the revival. Being revived in a game is not a bug, bro.
