Cloverworks is another studio under Aniplex who also own A-1 so it's practically the same.

Well more specifically CloverWorks used to be called A-1 Pictures Kouenji Studio, so they literally were the same company, they are just split now.

Also fun fact, the current A-1 Pictures that we know, never animated Darling in the Franxx, it was all CloverWorks, just under a different name for the first few episdoes, until they changed names midway through the show.

^ this, they *did* become indipendent from A-1 but they're still under Aniplex - at the same time, though, its management developed into a really interesting one and the talent they regularly gather on their shows is praiseworthy, it's sad that some people still think of CloverWorks as a subsidiary of that hopeless other studio

The studio is another subsidiary of Aniplex like the others said, but also the main reason why it looks different is because the main character designer for all the previous animated series Minako Shiba passed away. Because of this they ofcourse had to get a new character designer in for the new series and that led to an art style shift. I like the new style but I really miss how Minako Shiba designed Sebastian
