Shun and Toake managing to reach the 252 trapped in the car full of sand, they need to do everything they can to get the injured out, like using ladder cars between 2 different fire vehicles (Fuwa and Takasao) to simultaneous pull the car away from the rubble. Even as multiple groups come their aid, the full cooperation is intense and with careful deliberation to get the 252 out as safe as they can.

Eventually, they manage to pull the car and its 252 occupants out, both a man and pregnant woman, and they're on the verge of death while rescuers try to resuscitate the pregnant woman who has fallen under cardiac arrest, though it appears that they have been too late to rescue her by a minute, while the man made it alive.

Regardless, both Shun and Toake have done their best, there is nothing they could do anymore.

I know they won't be able to save every single victim but it's still heartbreaking to see them failed.

Once again, I was on the edge of my seat watching Shun and Tokae trying to rescue the people trapped in the car while the other firefighters are pulling the car out of the sinkhole. They were able to pull out and save the driver, but the lady in the passenger seat who was also pregnant didn't make it. This loss weighs heavily on Shun and Tokae as they realize that they are not going to be able to save everyone that is one of the stressful parts of the job that they signed up for. You have to take the small victories when you can on these rescue missions in order to maintain your sanity so you can focus on the next mission by saving as many lives as you can.

The day is not over for the Fuwa Rescue squad.

I got some issues in all this rescue operation but it is what it is. Tragic that they couldn't manage to save the woman.

It's sad that the pregnant lady died. But it's a sign for Daigo to realize that he can't actually save everyone. In the line of work, some people are just beyond saving. I want her to survive tho.

Melodramatic and predictable - good for firefighter enthusiasts, but not my cup of tea.

Rescue operations can be pretty slow and you just can't do something instantly without thinking about the consequences. Happens in real life too. It will be hard for Daigo and Shun to rise back from this tragedy.

It’s quite unfortunate that she passed away, especially since she was pregnant.

Why they didn't save the pregnant women? Her child COULD survive and give another life next after some time passed.

This is one intense episode. It shows just how human even the best firefighter can be. Tragedy will still happen despite the best effort.
