The anime will end at Volume 3 based on the current pacing.

Oliver goes after his second target in Volume 5.

The revenge plot is not the focus of the story, just treat it as a side story~

Entertaining is subjective.

The anime feels more light-hearted like the earlier Harry Potter books, promoting Nanao merchandise.

The LN is very sad and tragic. Is more like 60% Harry Potter, 30% Made In Abyss, 10% Berserk.

Well, the author wrote Tenkyou No Alderamin, so don’t get too attached to the characters, he has the guts to kill of major characters in the middle of the plot.

To be honest that sounds like a interesting read. It gets boring sometimes to read no matter how bad things get in a novel you know nothing going to happen to the main cast. I might try reading Spell Blades next.

It is a good read. The author does a good job world building and developing a story beyond just a school.

I wouldn't say it's a side story, it is the end goal of the protagonist of a long story. End goals are usually not especially something actively tackled on by the character right after the prologue is over, and not a lot for a while after either. Most likely, if we get full successive volumes focused on it, those would be the final volumes. BEfore that, you'll get half a volume here and there focused on downing their next target, with maybe 2 -4 volumes in between.

A group of students trying to safely graduate in this dangerous school, in the following volumes, a lot of students get "consumed by their spell".
And most students have different reasons to attend this dangerous school.

@Zefyris
Did the story become more focused on the Oliver's goals later on? I am still at volume 8, Cyrus's arc. They have not mentioned anything about their third target yet.
Side question hope you don't mind me asking, what are your thoughts of Ascendence Of A Bookworm? A ton of LN readers I know keep recommending the book to me, claiming it to be the best isekai ever (not Mushoku Tensei nor Re:Zero) but I recently got a burnout from royalty/nobility tropes due to Tearmoon Empire. Should I pick it up now or much later? :)

I've read up to vol 11 and so far, no. This is probably barely half way through the whole story TBH, so this is not surprising. I won't spoil you about the third target but you should have a good idea of who it'll be pretty soon anyway.

I don't especially like Tearmoon Empire. I tried it, read the first 3 volumes, it is very, very repetitive ImO. Bookworm is different. It's a slow burn, well built, and it keeps adding on that well built base as it goes on, always advancing. Definitely one of the best Isekai out there for sure. Also Bookworm isn't especially royalty/nobility trope (or at least really not in the same way as Tearmoon).

it's good I think the only thing bad is that they made one trash character no... two being the double gender four eyes and that ogre freak katie

The story started about the school, then shifted to Oliver and his revenge and now back to school. I thought there were several plots going on at the same footing of importance.
