What should you know? Like everything. You miss out on the characters, the story, the rules of the world.
You won't get an answer here that explains everything, because they should write down like a 24 episode long story with all of the conversations and visual clues.

if u skip season 1 you'll be missing 90% of the info about the series so far. if u start with s2 u wouldn't even know what's happening & who the characters are or know anything about them. start from season 1

if you skip to the entertainment district then you miss out on amazing moments that worth watching in season 1 and mugen train movie

ik season 2 is where it gets really good but don't skip. you won't really understand stuff. Either read the manga(better Pacing u can skip the backstory stuff) and watch s2 or just watch s1(better quality, the sound is amazing lots of good stuff) then s2. Either way don't skip content. U won't understand anything.

I personally think season 1 was better then season 2. watch a few episodes or skim through them. maybe watch a recap video on YouTube to catch up and start wherever you want. as long as you are enjoying the anime I don't think it really matters if you skip or not. but you will lose a lot of information by skipping

Why would you skip S1? You’re gonna be missing a lot of context. If you don’t care about the story (it’s kinda shit anyway) then just watch these fight scenes

Rengoku vs Akaza (Mugen Train Arc)

Tengen vs Gyutaro (Entertainment District Arc)

At least watch episode 1-2 of S1, then go straight into S2 (Mugen Train Arc).

Why would you want to skip season 1? It's genuinely a stupid question. You will miss a lot. Those 26 episodes are there for a reason and none of that is a filler episode. You won't understand the plot, the characters, the world or much of the important thing.

If you just want to look at its fights then just go to YouTube and watch its fights. Why bother watching season 2.

If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.

You are doing a bad move if you are thinking about skipping s1 cause in terms of story and emotion, s1 slaps all the other seasons by far. It had that urgency that other seasons lacked and a decent story.

As someone who watched the Mugen Train movie not knowing what Demon Slayer even was, you shouldn't skip anything.
Watch Season 1, then watch episode 1 of Season 2 because that's sort of the preparation for the Mugen Train arc and that isn't in the movie. After that 1st episode, you can either keep watching the episodes or watch the movie. If you watch the movie, then go to episode 9 because that's where Entertainment district arc starts. And then Season 3.

Bro what’s with ppl and skipping entire arcs/seasons. I remember someone in here just skipping the hidden inventory arc. Like I don’t understand, if u like something y would u not want more of it. Y on earth would u want to skip season 1 there’s so much good stuff in there. That would be an abysmal decision, do not do it. It’s not like it’s 1 piece and it’s 1000 eps long. All of it is MAYBE barely 50eps. Skipping season 1 would be a horrible idea
