Well, that concludes the series I guess. In all honesty I don't think I understood half of the stuff that happened this season, but at least I finished what I started.

After 49 episodes we're finally at the end. Like the guy above I also didn't understand many things due to the insane speed with which we went through the source material. One thing I was wondering about is Azalie. I swear I read somewhere that Azalie is alive and well in the sequel series that takes place decades later. Is that somehow connected to Orphen talking about resurrecting people this episode?
Anyway, despite rushing this story like no other, it was still quite enjoyable. Made me realize once more how good a story written by an actual writer can be. Worlds apart from those narou isekai "authors" that just copy everything they see in whatever currently popular title.
Now to wait another 20-30 years for the inevitable reboot, hopefully this time without rushing everything.

The finale of the long-drawn conflict with Orphen declared as the Demon King, and both Claiomh and Majic went on their own ways after that ordeal.

A time skip of a year past with Claiomh finding Corgon (now Sanctum) and Orphen hiding in the shadows, it's the pursuit thereafter of the former that has Corgon wanting to find Orphen, which he is with a Death Instructor. The eventual face-off between Orphen and Corgon that continued from the fight in the sanctuary, it ended in a tie.

The ship that Orphen is off on his own journey, and Claiomh, the 3rd person to betray Corgon, gets tied up. And in the pursuit to reach Orphen, with the help of Leki, Claiomh reaches to him in no time at all, and that says the journey for her and Krylancelo.

Finally, the end of the reboot's complete-but-incomplete adaptation, what a mess within these 3.5 years. Thank God it's all over now.

That's at least the goal anyways, because we don't care anymore.

Well, it was good (at least for me) as long as it lasted, but it's over. i've been an Orphen fan for roughly 15-16 years. I got hyped with this remake but little did I know that it would be treated with such low budget and is more rushed than a Resident Evil speedrun. Anyway, I can't say much to compare on the book since this episode adapts the novel End of Kiesalhima and it's only in japanese, even though I've read the prologue and a few pages of chapter 1 using Chat GPT as a translator (it's even better than Deepl). The only thing I can say to compare is that the prologue starts right after Orphen left Cleao in the hospital, then Leticia arrived later and Cleao expressed her desire to train under her guidance. Anyways, here's two illustrated pictures from this story:

What's in the book:

This one is probably from the Akita Box or in another edition rather than the ebook:

What happens now? The time skips 20 years and Orphen is in his 40s, he founded a magic school and is the principal, here's how he looks (way better than Naruto if you ask me):

This is when we have the new series, but I have no idea whatsoever of what happens, if anyone else dies or if it's even complete because there's no english translation for it. Will they ever adapt it? I really hope not. "But you've been a fan for so long" and that's exactly why I don't want another Orphen anime done like this. I really wanted a bigger studio to do it. Well, at least season 2 was actually good, I recommend that one, the others... not so much. Goodbye, everyone, now Imma write my review, this time I'm not giving this a 10 as a protest. Probably will be a 5 or 6.

Well thank God this is over. So you mean to tell me after all that build up, we still never got a proper confession or kiss or anything?? Wow. I have no idea what happened in this story after about season 1. Everything just blew by too quickly and frankly I just stopped caring. Shame because Orphen as a LN franchise is very popular but it just keeps getting mediocre adaptations and after 4 seasons of this one, I don’t see it getting any more.

I don't know about orphen before but I just watch this remake/reboot/re-adaptation/whatever, I think it's actually a kind of media that driven by conversation, not action, orphen is a kind of guy that think a lot, and has such a good balance on pessimistic/optimistic view. I've to admit that I don't understand 90% of what's going on (probably more than that) but I'll forever remember this anime as the one that each character has 3-4 different names, I mean if Ed/Colgon is not confused enough, he decide to add "Sanctum" to a list of his name in the last minute LOL

You're right, Orphen is not an action fighting focused story, it's more focused on adventure and  character development, the action parts are usually where the plot twists are. If you ever read the novels, you'll see how difficult it is to adapt them to anime.

Yeah managed to properly follow most of the seasons but this one was really messy especially the 2nd half which was just confusing. Still liked to see Claiomh joining Orphen at the end

I am a fan of Orphen, but this season was rushed and with low budget, well at last we finally reached the end .
Like how they show all the couples in the end.

Looks more like a read book than a anime, all the characters talks a lot, it's the firts anime that do that.
The deep story has potential, but how they did it is all wrong.

If a better animation studio do a adaptation it will be something for wait for, but if it's will be low budget again, please leave Orphen alone thanks.

The best was the second season with some action, gore, good animation, and not soo rushed.

I guess that was an OK ending and a better conclusion to Orphen's journey than whatever happened at the end of last week's episode.
Am I happy or dissatisfied with the last two seasons? I honestly can't tell because I've got some really complicated feelings about them and I guess I'll have to reflect on the whole thing before evaluating them.
To me the Kimluck arc remains the highlight of the series.

I see even with all that training Claiomh is still useless. I kid.

Everybody in the tower of fangs trained for years to become strong. One year isn't enough time to change yourself. I guess Claiomh takes plot armor to another level by having a creature that can bend the laws of the universe to it's whims. And yet Leki felt running through the streets was the best way to solve the situation. Never change, Leki and Claiomh.

I didn't know Corgon was so butthurt about Orphen taking his place. In a better anime with more money they could have went somewhere with that idea. Instead their rivalry ended somewhat......flatly.

6/10 anime for me. Coulda been a 7 if this season was even slightly comprehensible.

BTW, completely unrelated but One Piece is doing incredible things with it's animation right now. It doesn't even matter if you don't know or care about the story. Go treat yourself to pretty much the best animation on television right now. Start at episode 1061.

Well that wrapped it up. I wouldn't mind seeing a new follow on series showing the new continent following the time skip but with less rushing. This story has potential so I'd be good to see a solid adaptation.

One of the few things that I still am confused about are those ending stills showing the progression of the side characters. In that we can see Forte and Tish together with Tish looking rather pregnant. I thought Forte was dead as he got taken into the abyss or was that not the case???

One year leap. Corgon is Sanctum now? Orphen and Claiomh reunited.

That was a shocker, Leticia and what was that huge guy's name? They became a couple, and I didn't recognise it. Finale was good.

And somehow managed to finish the show. When the reboot started back in winter 2020 I actually enjoyed the earlier episodes but things got messy in later seasons. Well atleast somehow finished it ig. Not really sure what to think of the ending though.

A fine closure to what has been a miss of a reboot, imo. I'd this pretty much playing in the background while watching the Asian Games so I probably understood even less of the story than most others, xD. Since I got this far, I just wanted to end this really, more than anything.

Leticia Macredy and that tall guy in the end, did not expect that, wow. For now, continent is saved and Orphen is reunited with Claiomh and Leki while Majic is still training, all's well that ends well.
