| I think they'll make S2, but in like 2 more years. CloverWorks are kinda busy right now, so I see this as the biggest issue. Bunny Girl Senpai movie coming up next month, Horimiya Piece coming next season, Spy x Family S2 and movie coming at the end of the year and other Bunny Girl Senpai coming (probably) next year, too. I think that Spy x Family will have enough source material for another season in 2024, too. A compilation movie requires much less time and effort than a whole new season, so I guess they went with that to keep up the hype alive until they "free" some time and resources. |
| this is probably a "a second season is coming, but way in the future, so dont forget we exist" kind move. the show is marvelous so it doesnt need a compilation film at all imo, the only reasoning i can think of is them thinking they need to keep people concious that Bocchi exists |

| - In my experience watching anime, the movie version (TV summary) is very popular in Japan... the chance of a second season is very high, the summary to earn more money, attract more people Fans can understand anime content without having to watch all 12 episodes on TV. - Currently, Bocchi's youtube channel still sometimes releases new content ( MV , radio , talkshow ... ) and up to now, there have been 3 concerts and now a summary movie! - in short... we just have to wait! |

| I think S1's success was pretty unexpected even for the studio, so it's very likely that they do want to get that S2 out but don't want to risk producing it without S1's key staff members. So, they are stalling with those little concerts and events and now this "movie" to keep the name out there until the director is done with Frieren (you should check that one out) and other staff are also done with their current projects. |
