| Great first episode. The introduction of characters was solid, and the anime's premise was set. I loved Sagiri and her stoic attitude. Mappa's animation continues to deliver. Overall a fantastic start! |

| Really good start! I honestly thought the first half of the episode was a bit slow, but the second half really picked up. I thought too, that Gabimaru was just going to be an edgelord with no character and it left me wondering if he's ever going to get some character development, but that changed fairly quickly once we found out about his true personality and backstory, the way he doesn't actually want to die. He's my boy now, do it for your wife. So that's it? What? We some kinda...Suicide Squad? I am sort of worried about the wife though, I hope nothing happens to her. Even though this was only the first episode, I already want them to have a happy ending, but seeing how the father caused her scar, my worries are justified.Also, Sagiri is cool. Really looking forward to the next episode. |

| Really faithful to the manga, I always liked the nihilism in Hell's Paradise's world, Edo era isn't romanticized at all, Sagiri and Gabimaru's relationship is very interesting. I think this will be good. |

| Great first episode, nice chance of pace with the bait and switch of the MC motivation (motivation which is quite rare in battle shonens in the way it set up) looking forward to the next episodes |

| That was absolutely flawless! The animation was that high MAPPA standard that the adaption deserves, the voice cast is perfect and the soundtrack was incredible! Within the first few minutes this met my expectations and the rest of the Ep just exceeded them. This anime is going to be mind blowing! |
