Much later down the line I saw a clip of the Trash Taste podcast where they kept checking each others lists and commenting on what scores they gave various anime, and that's when I decided to make an account. |

I was not getting recommendations in r/anime for some specific type of anime so someone suggested that i should use MAL forum, as people are less toxic, more friendly and less judgmental here and the person was correct. |

| I think I was seeing MAL linked in torrent descriptions on a certain now-private tracker back in 2006-07, alongside other sites where I had (and still also maintain) lists like ANN, AniDB, and Anime-Planet. Fortunately, the option to import items from AniDB reduced the initial workload of starting an all-new list on a 4th site. |
