First of all this new Higurashi is NOT a remake of OG.Its kinda continuation of OG.Secondly this new Higurashi anime is not made by the same studio and has very subpar direction and animation.Please watch the OG first and dont watch this new Higurashi if u dont want to see ur favourite anime turned into a below average show. Story in new higu is not bad but the adaptation by studio is pretty mediocre.U can watch the OP ED of new Higu at least they r truly the continuation of OG OP ED😔

gou was just awful. Why call it a remake to fuck everything, so you need to watch the og series, but then it’s the same story (with some changes) for 14 episodes? The st-lucia arc wasn’t that interesting. If you want more content, watch higurashi kira, it’s way more enjoyable.

I absolutely hated it, that first episode was exactly the sane as in 2006 and it was still advertised as a reboot until the airing of 2nd episode.

brother that sequel totally ruined the anime franchise as a whole like seriously WTF you say one serious plot got ruined because one girl didn't wanted to study or be alone and then like obliterates people around her (friends I mean) but well fuck it that show was good at the beginning but got totally fucked up by a rushed ending can't believe I watched this anime weekly.

Copium much? Higurashi GOU was good, it just had some direction problems thanks to studio passione, even ryukishi himself said that. if Sotsu wasnt just a huge recap, it could be peak.
(+ do yourself a favor and Read Higurashi Meguri)

Haha sadly I am not 2yrs late as I watched(Why God Why) this damnation Higurashi Sotsu during its broadcast.I made this post now to warn new comers to not watch this 2020 series.I believe that a better studio and better director could have improved the show a lot.

Kinda decent but S1 and S2 is much, much, much better and has more genuine animation style. Especially S2 was loads better and probably the best anime series i have ever seen. This has excessive violence and modern art style. I feel it kinda lives of that more than character development etc. Still, looking forward to a happy ending where everyone have their wishes come true.

Loved back in childhood higurashi. It was creepy, full of twists, solid psychological horror and great mysterious story.

Now many, many years later I'm now watching Gou .... not used to art/character style and I'm kinda confused what is going on now?

Is this simply another time loop with different presentation and outcome? Just finished first 4 eps... confused and felt very fast paced.

It is continuation of Original Higurashi anime.Artstyle,animation,direction is very bad in this continuation.Also I would specially add that Voice acting and Character design of Keichi(JP) is one of the worst I have ever seen.Fun fact is that JP Keichi voice actor is the same OG Higurashi voice actor.U can watch this show only for songs and story which is not better than OG but acceptable.
