For those who have seen both works and although Blue Lock only has 2 chapters, which one do you think is better so far?

Aoashi by miles, with Aoashi you can actually learn football, for now Blue Lock feels like squid game with football but idk I just prefer the more realistic feeling sports anime, but I hope blue lock gets better.

It’s hard to choose so far. I think they hit different audiences. For example, I played a lot of soccer growing up. As a result I think of Blue Lock as a squid game version of soccer to help lure non-sport fans into it. On the other hand Aoashi helps to teach people the game of soccer.

In terms of football and concept, then Ao Ashi, as Blue Lock isn't exactly football, but more like squid game + football. But, for a more interesting plot/episode, then blue lock is really entertaining, so far.

They’re literally completely different demographics lmao. Ones seinen and the other is shounen. It’s like comparing Vinland saga with AoT. You can’t really say one is better, obviously people that prefer the realistic approach will say ao ashi is better, and those that like the edgy hype vibes would say BL, but that says nothing about which is better, just what type of anime an individual prefers. Like for me, blue lock just edges it because it’s much quicker pacing, and there’s so much hype but that doesn’t mean I think it’s better, cos as ashi focuses more on development and a realistic approach to youth football - something that I relate with very closely, and therefore I live both. Either way they’re both brilliant and unique takes of the sports genre, and you’re doing a disservice to them by forcing ppl to say one is worse than the other than

I mean both about football but not similar at all. one about team working together to achieve stuff and the other one is pure egoism. but for now I prefer ao ashi

They are series with a totally DIFFERENT proposal. There's no reason to make that comparison.

Both. I think they not can compete against. Because the story and the plot is totally different. BL is like a Casino Royal like, and Aoashi is more like a regular “hero” plot. - But I’m fan of them both! I got hyped in both of them.

For those saying Ao Ashi because it’s more realistic… go watch real soccer. This is an anime, it was never supposed to be realistic.

That said, I finished Ao Ashi, and it was good but inconsistent. Had its ups and downs. Blue lock so far is very intriguing, and I’m excited to see what happens. Blue Lock for me.

Ao Ashi is a realistic, coming-of-age story that you can learn from. Blue Lock is a suspenseful story that pushes the boundaries of what can and can’t be a premise.

Both are good in their own respective ways, but I personally like the ‘egoist’ premise Blue Lock is going for more.

If you are looking for a football anime that is realistic and gives you a look at what being a youth footballer is all about, then Ao Ashi is way better. Blue lock is much less realistic and is more about hype and excitement, which isn't bad...but if you're looking for something realistic then Ao Ashi is the go to.

Blue lock has that shounen feel to it though so if you don't care about realism and you're just looking for action and excitement, then Blue lock is the go to

I don’t think you can compare them not really. The two have very different stories and aesthetics. Ao Ashi has the more relatable story and Blue Lock is basically fantasy at this point.

I get what ppl are saying about aoashi being more realistic but I just can’t stand the main character lol, I also just find blue lock more raw and enjoyable.

I like both so much but for different reasons. I’ve preferred blue locks first 2 episodes but it’s too early for me to put it above aoashi just yet. I am really considering reading blue locks manga instead.
