What Year Did You Start Watching One Piece In?
| I started on March 2021, and I'm still on episode 164 lol I was intimidated by the sheer amount of episodes and was always "hmm, never gonna watch it or read it". Now I can only ask myself why I didn't start sooner. I feel so happy watching this show. |

| Jeese so many new one piece fans. Well if you mean the anime, technically I started with the 4kids Dub that aired in 2002. How ever my experience was not that thrilling to be honest and I eventually dropped it for quite a few years untill I picked it up again during the Thriller bark arc, around 2007-2008. If you want know my very First exposure to one piece was actually not the anime, it was the manga in shonen jump magazine. Early in the same year 2002, several months before I watched the 4kids dub. One of the issues that had 0-parts, DBZ, Yu-Gi-Oh, Hunter Hunter, Yu yu Hakusho, Shaman king and Naruto. The Chapter I first read the one where Zoro was first introduced. So I guess you can say I pretty much started from the begining at least with the manga. But unlike Naruto which I actually started when it first aired, one piece did not make that much of a splash here in the united states when 4kids first owned the rights to it. How ever it was 4kids that ultimatly caused me to loose interest in the manga and story and unfortantly I never picked it up again until years later. |

You won't find that many people here who started it pre 2010. Glad to see that One Piece is still attractive and it's the perfect counter argument against those who claim it's merely carried by nostalgia. |

| It must have been around 2003/2004 but I can't exactly remember. Somewhere between the ages of 13-16 in any case. I do know that I picked it up last from the Big 3, I started with Bleach, then Naruto, then OP. But all around the same time. Right now the latest ep I've seen is ep 990, haven't caught up with it in a while. But I will, eventually. |

| I started One Piece at the end of 2011. I remember it quite well for some reason. It was snowy mid December. I watched some 200 episodes and then for some reason pretty much stopped with all anime for a year or two. Sadly I never continued with One Piece again. |

| I started in Feb 2012 and made it to 649 in 2015 before putting it on-hold. Then I came back this year and restarted it ten years to the day and now I'm basically caught up (ep 1021). I think if anything, going through the adventure all over again invoked a much stronger sense of fondness & nostalgia. If you enjoy battle shounen and love adventure, this is absolutely a must watch. It's easily my favorite of the Big 3 and perhaps my all time favorite battle shounen series. |

I like that there is this sudden surge of new one piece fans in the last several years, most likely having to do with people aware that its ending soon. After all one piece i think for alot of newcomers, felt intimidating to get into because of its length. I know this is the reason my friend didn't even bother with it, but if people understand there is an end in sight, they are more likely to jump in. Oh I am aware, I have been on MAL since 2007. |
